So, um... Not to call attention to the "Golgoroth in the room," so to speak. But, I just thought I'd post this for Deej or Cozmo to see...
When, exactly, are we going to fix that annoying bug where we Jump, land and then try to sprint, only for our Guardians to decide, "No, I'm not going to sprint. I'm just going to stroll leisurely through the hail-storm of bullets heading towards me."?
I mean, really. I can't count the exact number of times I've heard, "IF MY GUY WOULD SPRINT, THAT'D BE F-ING GREAT!" Or, "C'mon! Sprint! ... SPRINT! SPRINT, PLEASE!! FINAL-- AND I'M DEAD. AWESOME."
Or even, "Trying to sprint, trying to sprint-- WHAT THE -blam!-?? COME ON!!"
It's been such a persistent problem that I'm surprised it hasn't been called to attention sooner.

Because they already have your money and they don't give a damn about quality or your concerns.
-
It's called sprint lock man. The simulation of your guardian getting tired from running as fast as he/she can for however long you made him/her do it. Not a bug.

What I've been wondering since day 1 is who are The Architects. They recently found it necessary to kill me in the PoE while I was shooting at a Hive Wizard.
-
Dude that's called your recovery, it's not a bug, it was purposely made like that for balance and as sort of a cool down

Edited by iDovahBear: 5/12/2016 4:11:17 AMNot to mention the screen wobble when you land is getting ridiculous. I jumped at a Sunbreaker on Asylum from the top mid room down towards the middle area, just outside the Atrium. I literally challenged the fool because I knew his hammer tossing game wasn't on point, he'd already thrown like three and missed. And I literally would've killed him with only melee if the game hadn't been retarded. I got my first melee to hit just before landing... ...And as soon as I landed, my Guardian developed tourettes like I've never seen before. He just started whigging out and refusing to keep my screen stable, and basically I whiffed the second melee because my Guardian couldn't handle a five-ten foot fall. I mean, I literally used the other Titan to break my fall by punching him. Logic aside, the in-game display suggests my downward momentum was mitigated by the lunge. So... why did falling all of five feet give my Guardian tourettes? I don't see why this is a thing. I still won the Trials Run, but not only was it utter bullshit, but I really deserved that moment. If someone is ballsy enough to challenge something, petty physics gimmicks shouldn't be such a limitation. I mean, it'd be one thing if the Field of View was half decent. Then all that shaking wouldn't have meant shit, the Titan would've still been on my screen. But between falling and developing tourettes, he managed to wiggle out of frame for long enough for my melee to whiff. P.S. If I was a Warluck, I would've guaranteed got the EZ Mode Lunge Assist. #FeelsBadMan.

It's not a bug. Bungie said it was a mechanic in the game. It's a 2 second cool down on the sprint. Also play cod or some other game similar, and make sure your left analog stick isn't broke. I had to replace 2 controller to the same damn problem. When you sprint, your guy just stops suddenly for no reason. That's how you can tell the difference between Bungies mechanic and your actual analog stick being broke. I did however manage to save one of the controllers by fixing it myself.
It's been such a persistent problem that I'm surprised it hasn't been called to attention sooner.
It's been called attention to plenty. Just bc you didn't bother to look up old posts for it doesn't mean it hasn't been called attention to.

It's called, "we are bad at making games."
-
Sprint delay is stupid and has no place in the game, especially since they dont give you a cooldown timer
-
My favorite is how that will happen, but I'll go to aim and if I click the stick in just a little because of the tension, my guardian will immediately take off in a sprint. Like I can only sprint when its the least convenient option.

Yeah not being able to sprint certainly sucks and has caused me I don't know how many deaths in PVP but on the bright side it effects everybody so we're all on an equal playing field in that sense anyway...
-
Sprinting has a shit ton of issues in this game. My mind is so naturally used to constantly spamming the left analog, that I ended up playing Division and would cancel my sprint on that game ALL the time. It was so annoying. I'd love for the spring-lock to be removed and having to sprint again after landing from a jump. Smoothing out the gameplay as much as possible is always a good thing.

Holy cow I thought it was just me cause I wasn't pressing down on L3 hard enough. I swear I hurt my elbow from rage pressing that stupid L3 stick!

Edited by Octopus: 5/11/2016 8:02:06 PMFirst of all, to all those who say that who says it's a cooldown is an idiot, is an idiot himself lol, as it is a cooldown, but meant for the titan, to prevent him from one of his abilities, where he smashes his enemies (not sure how it's called in english version of the game and also don't own a titan, but this was discussed already very early for a long time, as far as i remember)...but the fact, that it's a "cooldown" and affects every other character and their subclass too, such as locks and hunters is not only poor design (and still in game just stupid), but surely the same reason why there's no difference between gunbalance in pvp and pve - just bungie being lazy morons (being not lazy = invest money lol^^) edit:
It's been such a persistent problem that I'm surprised it hasn't been called to attention sooner.
It had more than enough attention in the past...but like so much other things ppl ask for and being ignored, this was just another thing that was being ignored until ppl gave up on wasting time to get this changed

Agreed. Spacefaring magic wielding death dealing super jumping teleporting Guardian can't sprint. And can't sprint and reload either. I suppose every superhero needs a flaw. Our Guardians need hip replacements. BTW My controllers left stick is naked thanks to this.

It's persistently frustrating, for sure. I can see it being a deliberate choice intended to serve Crucible, but I would prefer Bungie giving more consideration to the co-op in their co-op game. If this is a choice made for the sake of PvP, it absolutely came at the expense of the PvE experience, which, IMO, has to be unacceptable in the design wing of Bungie HQ. There has to be a better solution. Worse, I don't even think it actually benefits Crucible, so it's just a poor decision that adversely affected the core game. I mean, it's even annoying in the Tower. Any decision that so pervasively affects the experience that it detracts from social spaces really should be a priority, IMO.

Sprint has a cooldown. You can sprint twice then you get a ~five second cooldown. The reasoning behind this is only for one class and one subclass with one perk bubble active: -the Striker Titan shoulder charge. It's not fair that all the other eight subclasses are effected by that, but that's how Bungie works. Just like punishing PvE players so they can balance PvP players. They should separate the effects, but they just blanket everything because it's easier and less time consuming / cost less money.

4 Controllers since day 1...sprint cooldown can seriously eat my Cancer.
-
-
If it was tied to a silver purchase it would have been fixed within a week...
-
Its absolutely crazy to think this has been a problem since year one and to my knowledge, hasn't even been acknowledged by anyone on the staff.
-
I have worn out and replaced 3 controllers so far on my ps4 because of this very problem. And destiny is the only game I play.
-
But for some reason a guardian has infinite sprint at tower. So dumb, I'm carrying the same amount of gear and all. The sprint cooldown is an issue that needs to be addressed and should've been long ago.
-
Agree 100%. Land - no sprint for ~3 seconds. Shadestep - no sprint for ~3 seconds. Shoulder charge - no sprint for ~3 seconds. In a raid, or in Crucible, when you are taking fire and need to get the f*ck out of Dodge, having this minor bug is a complete kick in the balls.
