Apparently I am terribly mis-informed. A guardian below has helped me see why the post was shut down.
Edit: The answer has been found: The CoC says that you cannot reveal information about upcoming content, so I'm guessing that's why the post was closed down.
It could be real. You can be banned for spoiling or releasing details about new content..
The post did not release any info on new content though...
Wasn't it the one about custom games..?
Edited by Omnitron310: 5/10/2016 6:41:32 PMThe post was so obviously fake it hurt. Nothing about it added up, and there is no way a Bungie employee would be so unprofessional as to spill a load of confidential details to some random stranger in a public cafe, even if he did use a pseudonym. It seems perfectly reasonable to me that Bungie would delete a post that was at best pointless spam, and at worst an attempt to deliberately spread misinformation about their company.
-
Impersonating. That "interview" was so obviously fake.
-
It was obviously bait. The OP downvoted every comment calling him out for fabricating the interview, just like a child annoyed that adults have figured out he's lying. The way it was written also sounded way too much like a script, it didn't sound like a normal conversation.
-
1st amendment? Hehe.
-
Fake or not, I believe there will be private servers and custom games in destiny 2
-
It got taken down for impersonation of a Bungie employee. Nothing to read in to.
-
Real or fake, I can see it being plausible. That's the scary part. Is that nobody is saying "wow, totally unlike Bungie. There's no way" The fact that we even think it's possible really shows the faith we have in the devs
-
Here's a spoiler destiny will shut down servers so everyone buys destiny 2.
-
Or it was shut down because it was fake. It's one thing to speculate what destiny 2 is going to have, it's another thing to claim a bungie employee in a Starbucks broke a non disclosure agreement (which would get him fired) to some random guy and fabricate an interview.
-
It's because a fake interview was passed off as real instead of a parody or wishlist. That kind of misrepresentation should be shut down.
-
I'm assuming you haven't been here that long and don't understand how Bungie works. I've been here since the Halo 3 days (about 8 years) and they do whatever the hell they want. It's an Oligarchy. And they have every right to be. The first amendment doesn't exist within companies. You can't say and do whatever you want. You think you can go up to your boss and say f*** you and not get fired? That's the way it is with Bungie and that's the way it has always been. They're assholes. I've just gotten used to it. Their "ninjas" are like their little KGB.
-
I read it and if it was real he said 100% positive Destiny 2 would have custom games...HYPE!!
-
Now were on to something!
-
Pm me the interview
-
I've mentioned this to a couple of people here, but OP, you should see this as well. Bungie owns these forums, and as such are legally entitled to do almost anything they want with them: from the Terms of Service for Bnet:
Bungie has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, Bungie reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. Bungie reserves the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.
-
Please tell me how this doesn't violate the 1st amendment.
Do you even know what that is?
-
Spreading hate, and sparking aggressive behaviour from the community. Of course it got deleted! As should ANY OTHER topic with the same end result.
-
Edited by TrulyDontCare: 5/10/2016 6:07:02 PMIt sounded real, for sure. I have a hard time believing somebody would take the time to write that much realistic dialog for no reason. It wasn't even trying to make a point get people riled up. Still, he obviously can't prove it's real, so it makes sense they would remove it. They're serious about not impersonating people or anything like that. That was basically giving Bungie a voice without their okay. I doubt he got banned or anything, but it's understandable why they removed it.
-
What interview?
-
Lol do you even know the 1st amendment.
It protects you from the government not private entities.
-
Tell me how it violates the 1st amendment again? Is the poster in jail because of his post?
-
At least it gave the Ninjas something to do.
-
It could be real. You can be banned for spoiling or releasing details about new content..

Edited by DMGRGN: 5/10/2016 5:59:36 PMIf it WAS fake, then it could be viewed as slander. I'm a huge advocate for freedom of speech, but certain kinds of speech count as assault, and if Bungie deemed the post as slander, then they could easily say it was an assault on their company and reputation. I know, it sucks and it's kind of BS, but that's how law works here in the U.S. Edit: it it was REAL, on the other hand, then it was a violation of the NDA that Bungie's employees all signed as a part of their employment. If you sign an NDA, you are authorizing the issuer of the agreement to limit your freedom of speech if it could potentially cause damage or disruption to the issuer.

Impersonation is against the CoC
-
Or maaaaaaaybe just maaaaaaaybe it wasn't real and it was a bored kid posting fake shit? Naaaaaah cause that would actually make sense.....
