As seen in the video(by Willisgaming), a big part of the destiny community would love transmogrification
What I have noticed in destiny is the lack of customisation.
We have all these awesome year one crucible armor sets, raid sets, Iron banner sets and much more.
Those who held on to their VoG titan set will know what I'm talking about.
It's a shame that we can't wear the stuff we like anymore.
Okay, we all have to move on, but wouldn't you just love to run around in that pair of boots you never dismantled? If only you could use your raid boots' stats and light, but use your year one boots' "look".
Transmogrification would make that possible, it is something we see many games, such like world of warcaft and runescape (if you still play that).
It works in those games, but how do we implement it into destiny?
Maybe we can add an additional page in our inventory.
We scroll one down to our shaders and emblems, and then we have the option to scroll one more down.
this page will exist of your guardian and his/her armor (no subclasses, weapons, ghosts or artifacts)
Only the gear that can be used as a vanity item. In this screen you see all your gear just like in your original starting screen. Only thing you don't see is your equiped armor. Now you can equip any armor of your inventory in this vanity screen. It will basicly cover up your actual armor with the armor you prefer, while still you still have the highest light/best stats possible
But I have dismatled my year one gear already...
Well, as many of you guardians know we have legacy strikes in destiny. These strikes are lvl 20 strikes that mostly have no use to us year 2 players. Bungie could change the loot-table of these strikes so they can drop any year 1 legendary armor piece (including Iron banner and other events such like Queen's Wrath). So there will be no legendary engrams, just year one armor and blue engrams.
Even the name of the strike playlist "legacy" fits in with this idea. If the legacy strikes are not an option, then an entirely new playlist called: "Vanity strikes" can solve the problem as well.
So in short: If tranmogrification would be added into the game, we would have more customisation and more diversity within destiny. In order to obtain this year 1 armor that many of us have dismantled, we grind out the legacy strike playlist (or vanity) and get it to drop. Then we go to our inventory and equip it in our vanity slots.
Let me know what you guys think, would you like transmogrification being added to destiny?
Why or why not? Any ideas or improvements are welcome! Let's hope bungie implements a similair system into destiny in the future :D
(I'm not a native english speaker, so excuse me for my grammar etc.)
I hope the text wasn't to boring to read, or to long :P

(Note: exotics can not be hidden from opponents, so if you wear exotic armor, it wil show it anyway)
Thanks for the comments guys, didn't think about this in the first place.

I would be down for that, but it is not high on my priority lists. I hope that chroma is just their first step towards greater customization. Personally, what I want is player housing. Like there is a super massive city right beneath our feet when u stare at the Traveler; thank god my Titan is an exo and probably can turn off his BO sensors, but I probably smell like...what ever the hell a mixture of Cabal, Taken, Hive, and Fallen smells like. Plus, it adds greater immersion. As silly as it sounds, I like approaching random NPCs and hearing them acknowledge you. "It is an honor to stand among Guardian", "Thank you Titan", "Welcome back from the front", etc. makes you feel like you are doing something worthwhile. Plus, I can't think of a better way to encourage people to explore the game world more than player housing. Find all ghosts on Earth and get X item or w.e. That being said, odds of this occurring are probably less than transmog so lets get transmog going first. Cuz I gotta say, some of the Y1 and leveling gear actually looks pretty damn solid; some even better than current loot.

Aos cryptid cloak 😓😢😢😢😭

The work required to code it is not a good ratio to money it will gain. So maybe in the fall DLC it can be put in. If saved for destiny 2. But just adding it will be bad business.

Vanity slot is a good idea

Bungie are useless. That's why. They also don't give a -blam!- what the community wants. What they want is all that matters.

Edited by KLGChaos: 5/10/2016 7:12:51 AMI would run around with the flaming blue skull all the time. Instead of the helmet I have now... which wouldn't be bad except for the giant handle on the back, ripe for enemies to grab onto and break my neck. Plus, I'm not a Cyberman, damn it.

This would be an amazing addition to the game. However, it doesnt have anything to do with the weapon meta, eververse, or crucible so it will never be implemented sadly. That is what they changed this game into. It was supposed to be an open world fpsrpg but, it's all about PvP now and not even a good one at that. Like one of the other posts said below the only way they'll add somthing to the game is through more people blowing this up on the forums or a drop in players. So let's blow up this idea so we can finally be able to actually customize the way we want to look.

Dont need Transmog. Just add the L3 Button to make that Item be your appearance. Its that simple. No new Slots or Item systems or anything. Just a click of a button to change your look.
-
Want to use blue gear sets because most of them look better than the purples.
-
-blam!- Bungie They made an amazing game Then they made every single terrible decision you could think of....they only care about increasing the grind.

I'd love to upgrade my Manifold set in year 2. That was my favorite ps exclusive for the Warlock.
-
Please. I want to use my warlock's vanilla IB set 😎

Edited by Cowboybebop: 5/10/2016 8:34:04 PMBungie doesn't want less grinding, less grinding = less total playtime.

It's a good idea. Unfortunately unless bungie can get some silver sales from it I highly doubt it would ever be implemented. #beards4guardians Since the beta days.
