Bit of backstory:
I've been an artist all my life, and used to recieve many compliments on my work. For a few years, I had been taking private art lessons with a professional, but we recently cut them due to lack of time.
Nowadays I have no motivation to draw or anything, yet I always want to. I either have motivation or ideas, not both. How can I get out of my chronic artist's block?

It is better to cultivate discipline than motivation or inspiration. These are great but only in the bbriefest of moments. They are fleeting. But if you cultivate discipline then you can draw more regardless. Force yourself to do it. Even if you don't feel it or are uninspired. Draw. Then, when you discipline yourself will you be able to capture inspiration when it happens.
