It was like the Dark Zone?
Anyway, I'll summarize this idea with some bullet points. READ THE FIRST POINT DAMMIT.
-This is a new gamemode
-All enemies are light level 320 and are all yellow bars
-PvP will be enabled
-Killing a guardian will cause a legendary engram to drop
-If you fire on another Gaurdian, you are marked as a public enemy for 3 minutes for each kill
-You can only go to orbit at those areas that look like they should have been spawn locations
-If you die, you either have to wait to be resurrected or respawn at one of the locations mentioned above
-All engrams collected are dropped when you die
-Collected engrams are put in a special place in your inventory that can hold up to 10 engrams
-Edit light level advantages/disadvantages work the same as in trials and Iron Banner.
-Edit Synths will not be able to be used(credit to Flewhid)
-Edit Fireteam members are alway friendly(credit to plasmastorm12)
-Edit If you turn off your console, all loot you were holding is lost(credit to AlbertEinstein)
That's the gist of it. If you have any questions, type at me.

People would camp it with snipers I guarantee
-
If it were lvl 40 sure but this is pushing it
-
I feel like a legendary engram every kill is a tad too generous. Interesting idea tho.
-
nope. it sounds too much like GTA online. step one foot outside and you've got like 15 people shooting Rockets at you. it wasn't fun in GTA...and it would just get old here.

Edited by Grasp of Malok: 5/7/2016 1:56:48 AMincoming long post. Want a tl'dr? Well i don't care. If i wanted to fight other guardians, I'd settle it in the crucible. Not in patrol. Also can bungievision's 'servers' handle that? Or are we gonna have anyone that roams around killing people 'accidently' having a red bar? Also the same problem in division here people jump in front of your shots and everyone mows you down. I'm tired of dealing with assholes like that. If i wanted patrol like this I'd go to the division. Also I'll mention keen scout, what if you hover over person and keen scout counts as a hit? Also another mention to firefly/hereafter blinding. It goes off and it hits/kills another guardian it will most likely mark you as an enemy. Golden Gun AA and bullet magnetism, shadowshot AA and magnetism, stormtrance in general, sunsingers and their grenades, sunbreaker sunspots, grenades in general, and pleny of more things with AoE effects in combat where friendly fire is in play. And the #1 thing. Sniper AA. THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT ABOUT LOSING TO SNIPERS. You try to snipe a major/boss and AA drags your scope as you pull the trigger along with stupid bullet magnetism. You mistime a shot when a jackass/troll/griefer jumps in your shot you're gonna get a salvo of snipers/rockets/supers shoved up your ass and lose your loot just because of stupid mechanics and people in general. Just give us a patrol with higher light, more majors, and more punishing enemies that are a BIGGER threat. AI with a common -blam!-ing sense. Im thinking legendary mode tier enemies like in halo in comparison that are brutal. Possibly even more than halo.

Think it's a little much that every time you kill a guardian you get a legendary drop. Legendary and exotic are supposed to be special if I'm leaving a game with 10 legendary in 1 sitting that will get beyond stale very fast.
-
I already play patrol, it's an easy way to grind out vanguard rep, glimmer, and materials.
-
No I don't want to get killed by doctrine in patrol.

That means I can play out the whole dredgen yor story now. Then be killed by a guardian with TLW. Perfect
-
The issue is people will farm each other for legendary engrams
-
You mean a Dark Zone? NO. At best, I'd hope for a hardmode, raid like patrol area, but no PvP involved.
-
Edited by Stormtrooper1610: 5/7/2016 12:43:28 AMThere would always be large fire teams in the area Always have perfect snipe spots Babies would whine about dying all the time - nerfs No thanks.
-
Only if it's optional.
-
Edited by Fenrir: 5/7/2016 12:32:42 AMI play it regardless, although I don't think a DZ should permanent in patrol but instead an optional patrol mode. I like your idea but I also like my relaxing strolls through the cosmodrome lol, and if your first point already addressed what I said then sorry for wasting time 😛
-
Why is there a console in your kitchen?
-
Lol patrol
-
I enjoy patrol and I wouldn't want to die from other players while I'm trying to patrol. It would just give the pvers of the game another reason to start disliking the game. It's time to practice with different weapons, gain glimmer, nail that 720 no scope while falling off the map onto a knight and thinking to yourself that your the best ever and no pve can stand a chance. Or just flying around on your sparrow getting some sweet air.
keep pvp and pve seperate. As much as possible.
You're missing the most important point of this....the WHY. I can see this is a new "game mode" idea...but why are Guardians shooting against each other unless it's for "gun practice" and getting better with killing their enemies? (AKA Crucible) What would the connection be? Does this belong in the Crucible menu? Is this another Patrol Tier of some sort? Is it a combination? Does this connect to the story at all? At the moment, this doesn't make sense on what it should be...add some edits in there.

Edited by Iggister: 5/5/2016 7:40:05 PMDoesn't make sense, do the PvE enemies drop engrams? What's the point of enemies then?
-
If you keep the normal patrol and add this then I'm fine
-
This idea just came from Division.
-
Edited by Atomic: 5/5/2016 10:52:08 PMNo because then a 330 can just kill me while I'm trying to get materials like wormspore
-
Hell no that bullshit.

Edited by God Sent Quails: 5/5/2016 11:13:47 PMFirst off people had this idea long before the division came out and they had posts here telling how to make patrol better and a zone where you could kill other players, so anyone saying the OP stole this idea from Division is dumb. Secondly, while your idea is good, like I said earlier, some people already had ideas that were actually better (IMO sorry) than yours. Lastly, I still think this is a great idea and am glad to see people still are interested in making patrol better and more entertaining. Please keep the ideas flowing. Addendum: "Patrol Hunt" Selected game mode from director when selecting patrol on any planet and changing the level requirement from "easy" to "hunt". Upon spawning you can roam around looking for gaurdian and are able to kill them which puts a bounty on your head for 5 minutes. If a gaurdian who is currently searching for patrols from orbit selects the same planet you are on it will show in the "hunt" selection screen that (like a modifier) that there is an "x" amount of bounties live on that planet. Only if you survive for the five minutes does it give you rewards and if you just survive the five minutes without having any engagement, the rewards are small. If you kill "x" amount of people rewards increase dramatically. When you land on a planet it will give a waypoint showing the direction the gaurdian is that has a bounty on their head but will NOT show their exact location. This prevents camping to a certain degree. If you kill a gaurdian while there is a bounty on your head you will extend the bounty for 3 minutes for each gaurdian killed. If you kill more than 5 guardians than you now become an "exotic hunt bounty", for other guardians to have a chance at great loot as well. Upon killing 8 guardians without dying, you yourself have a chance at an exotic. But it's all random drops like nightfall for you and for the opposing players " exotic hunt bounty". You can only camp and snipe for so long because yes, no ammo synths are allowed and after you kill your first gaurdian you CANNOT PICK UP ANY MORE AMMO ANYWHERE. If you die it's over. You can respawn but the bounty is dead with you.
