Evening guys,
Just putting out a feeler but who else is at the point of giving up on Oryx on Hard simply because these kids are ruining the experience?
So many think that now they are above 320 they can jump in on any LFG post and waste the time of others. That they decided to have a weird argument about something so weirdly irrelevant. That they want to stand there and want to compare shaders or emblems. That you offer them help if they just say they've not done the raid before but even though they mess up every time they are still insistent that they have done hundreds of times.
Is there a way we can eradicate these?
Just an update on this... I'm not against raiding with kids, and I'm not against helping people out that haven't done Oryx. I was that person once. I'm against the kids that do so much talk about how good they are and how they've completed the raid so many times before, to then ask where do the Knights spawn, how many times do we have to kill the Ogers. Adults generally have limited time to play in comparison to kids, so hence the frustration of wiping 20 odd times with teams full of kids.
I finally did Oryx with a group, and the Runner was a kid that hadn't done it before. I was happy with that because he said so. The team rally together to help him out and we did it on the third try. The kid did awesome and I was chuffed that he finally got Oryx done Challenge style.
Edit... One last update. This subject seems to be hot topic at the moment within the forums. Is there a Developer that can create an LFG app for both iPhone and Android dedicated to experienced adult raiders?

I played with a LFG team of 4 normal raiders and 2 hard mode vets. It was quite interesting, haha. Me and the other guy had alotta of patience. But the other vet was laughing "Why are you guys doing what you're doing and dying so much?" I had to explain that normal mode has revive, so players can run around the map like headless chickens. Attention Normal Raiders: There is no revive. Half the enemies in Oryx Room can melt you in no time. Basically it's like this - the whole room is poison! The only safe spot is a Titans Bubble, the Runner's Aura and the rare moment when all enemies are dead.

I hear ya. I tend to be quiet during raids
-
Adult only posts

When I join a random post on LFG, I inspect every player in the FT to see if they are truely 320+ or just slapped on whatever makes them their highest light, that's how you know if it's going to be a smooth run or not. I've given players way too many chances and completed the raid so many times that I just can't be bothered with time wasters or newbies anymore. I very rarely join LFG posts now.

Here op. I use this get hate mail from shit players and get the raid done in 40 min. Need 5 for fresh hardmode mode raid. *Must be over 330 *A lot of completions over (40) Scrubs will be booted. No remorse for boots. 2 deaths in a row is instant boot. You're all replaceable by people who are 5x better than you. Call me what you will just don't need to mess around for 3 hours cause ur scrub ass can't stay alive. This has been out for 7 months.

Simple fix, ask for the emblem.

Edited by michael: 5/2/2016 12:03:13 PMi hate kids who make people think like this im trying to be not one of those kids; everytime i raid i only speak for callouts and then for thanking the team for their time at the end no matter if we finish or not. but because of this stereotype of "kids suck at raids, just kick them" i get kicked from groups during oryx because someone blamed an issue on me because im younger, even though the issue they blamed me for was actually their fault, they just want to make the kid look bad and kick them because it's always the kids fault right? right. pardon my shitty grammar. anyway, i know there are those people who only want to raid with adults because they just like raiding with people their age, but i also know that there are people who believe that all people with a high pitched voice will ruin a raid. and i don't blame them, because there are shitty kids who make them believe that way. hell sometimes ive even resorted to telling the group leader im a girl because i know that if i tell them im a 14 year old guy, they'll kick me as soon as they hear the word 14. to the kids who are immature- you are why i don't play pve anymore. shoutout to you.

Destiny is rated T for teens. If you are looking for adult players then go play f*cking Call of Duty

I'm not sure of I've posted in this thread it the dozens of others where people are bitching about PUGs, but realize the fact that you are not on a bargaining position when you won't go to the effort of establishing a raid group. Rather than change the entirety of the community you are a part of, take the initiative and do what you need to in order to have the experience you want. TL;DR if it bothers you, join a clan. If not, shut your mouth and put up with it.

I just give up and go to bed when I get one of those "uncooperative" children. Like you said, helping out the ones mature enough to know and learn I'm always willing to team up with.
-
Then why are adults complaining about playing a game that's t for teen and not expecting a bunch of kids.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
27 oryx completions lmao
-
We should make a wall, a big wall made of fire that we would call it "firewall" so kids won't be able able to join the border. Because you know they aren't sending the good kids. They yell, talk to much and some, I assume, are maybe good kids. #makedestinygreatagain

Its ok. Got into an entire raid team. All saying done hard etc. me and another are the only ones to do hard. They didnt say shit till about sisters and never seen that part of the raid(only like 2 at this point) as soon as we found out we left. If you dont know how to do the raid or never done hard its fine. Just let your team know so its not a struggle to do an easy raid.

Edited by seantheprawn1234: 5/2/2016 1:00:26 PMI'm 16 and I run run runner or plates, oryx usually takes me 1/2 tries, it doesn't really depend on whether or not your a kid, I'm experienced and know what to do so its easy, and I'm not one of the kids that have unlimited time, I have school, homework and a part time job
-
Some kids are actually really cool and are good at the raid. But some are bad too
-
The problem is not kids tbh. It's with people building up there light with having very little skill. I like the way bungie has made levelling up easier for the noobs of destiny and have gave people more ways to increase there light and also at the minute you actually get rewarded for your time but we are left with these big high powered guardians with little to no ability. My friends list is packed with guys who can't even do the jumping ships in Kings fall but are running around at level 333 light with no kings fall hard completions. So it's a tricky 1. As I said I like were the levelling up system is right now and like that we now have options to levelling up but as for people with no clues I don't really know. Ps some kids I have done raids with have been badass and some have been annoying so I would not blame the kids. As them to listen and if they don't play ball replace them. If they are smart they will soon learn.

Emblems, ToM, and Spindle are key. Do you NEED them in the raid? NO Does it show experience and dedication to raids? YES If you roll a shotgun or rockets, you're friggin gone instantly (except for the gaye opening at the start)
-
None of what you said is exclusive to "kids", I've come across numerous adults who've done the exact same.
-
Join a clan or make your own group.
-
Ask for the oryx challenge emblem if they don't have it they can't do the raid
-
Bearing in mind running is the easiest part of challenge XD
-
You could stop complaining.
-
I usually make one and ask 3 questions. Whats the TOM? How many bosses in the raid? Name 3?
-
Exactly, us adults do have limited time so my gaming time is sacred
-
Last time I joined a raid I was the only older guy and one other older female was their too lol we were checking everyone's completion during the raid
