Greetings my fellow floodinites.
Have you ever wondered how you can keep your information relatively secure in this vast ocean of the internet? Well, I'm here to help.
The first place to begin is with a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
A VPN is a network that is constructed by using public wires — usually the Internet — to connect to a private network, such as a company's internal network. There are a number of systems that enable you to create networks using the Internet as the medium for transporting data.
In laymen's terms, it masks your IP address and allows you access to blocks sites. For example, does your school/work wifi block social media sites like facebook, youtube, etc? No problem.
VPNs can be used to protect your information when you are using unsafe or public wifis, like at school, work, Starbucks, the airport, etc. Keep unwanted people out of your business!
Now for which VPN to use, there are literally thousands of different options out there. The best protection of course would be one you pay for. But through my searches, I found a pretty good one that is completely free.
Simply search for https://imgur.com/a/AhOsj in the app store. It is a free download that gives you 500MB free a month. While you have to pay for the tracker blocks, this can avoided by using a TOR browser and deleting your cache daily.
Now, paying for this VPN is completely unnecessary. Simply make multiple accounts using a random email generator. Write them down and use switch between them as the 500MB run out. A great site for random email generators is http://www.yopmail.com/en/email-generator.php
The next thing to talk about are Tor browsers. To save space, here is a great place to read up on them- https://www.torproject.org/about/torusers.html.en
Tor browsers should always be what you use when you browse the internet. They block trackers, mask your IP, secures your personal information, and allows access to sites your area may block. The best I have seen for cheap on the Iphone is Red Browser-https://imgur.com/a/jXr5C
It cost approximately 2 US dollars. It is the most worthwhile thing you will purchase on your phone. Security should be our top priority. Tor browsers, by their nature, are a bit slower than regular browsers. It is up to you to decide if a few seconds are more important than your security.
I hope this helped you! Feel free to comment bellow or pm if you have questions. I'm by no means the most tech savvy person, but I will do my best to answer. Stay anonymous, stay safe!
