My opinions on each legendary campaign;
Halo CE: Fairly hard.
Halo 2: Makes Dark Souls look like a 4 year old's game.
Halo 3: Fun Challenge.
Halo Wars: I forgot...
Halo 3 ODST: almost if not on par with Halo 2's
Halo Reach: Same as H3
Halo 4: Lmao, if you think this is hard... wow I really don't know what to say. (Barely a Halo game)
Halo 5: ... What? this is a HALO game thread not Call of Duty advanced Halo-fare.

LASO Jackal Snipers, that is all.
-
Inb4 LASO

Halo 2 because damage output. But I'm writing Halo 4 here because if you miss one watcher suddenly a whole new wave of knights appear and they were absolutely awful to deal with.

Halo CE was just annoying. Having that common scenario of one bar health going against two elites and an assload of grunts. And the flood was just annoying because they'd get right back up at random. Halo 2 was a tough game all around. Few encounters were easy when not geared up right, and enemies were not going down without at least seeing a single tear run down your cheek. And the mental fortitude required to not cry when going down jackal alley on outskirts..... I'll stop before the PTSD kicks in. Halo 3 wasn't too hard. A nice fun challenge if anything, only ass mission was Cortana but even then it wasn't too bad. Halo 4... Now that's just funny. Halo 5 only had like two moments that were hard and they were in the span of the last two levels. Everything else was fine. Halo 3: ODST wasn't bad as long as you had a plasma pistol 24/7 and either a carbine or a magnum, just couldn't forget to look up at the rooftops now and then. You could skip like 75% of the mombassa street engagements by just running away. Halo Reach was another challenge that wasn't too hard. This is the only game where I ran the LASO difficulty and that is just absurd... Anyways the base legendary was just right except for the very last part on the mass driver and all 9,000 phantoms and banshees. Halo Wars on legendary had to have been programmed when Ensemble was in some kind of satanic mood... The AI has their units fully upgraded before you even have a single scorpion, and they will kick your ass. I think I had 5 power turret tanks, 3 spartans included, drop to 2 or 3 hunters because they just wouldn't die.... The campaign is relatively hard, especially on anything with a time limit, but still fun in its own demonic way.

Halo 2 is harder but two betrayals in ce drove me crazy

Edited by Sjur Eido: 4/27/2016 7:37:29 PMJackal snipers. Never again. Please.
-
While not the hardest, Halo 4's was the most frustrating for me, probably because I was only playing for the rewards, instead of liking the game and playing for the rewards.
-
Halo 2 on co-op was really difficult. Me and my friend decided to replay it prior to MCC. Neither of us knew that an iron skull-like effect was activated during co-op. Double the chance for a small mistake to end us.
-
For me, CE was hard. Especially Keyes and The Maw. So... Much.... Flood...... Have not played H2 H3 was semi-hard. Only had trouble on Cortana. Didn't play H4. Didn't even bother to play H5. That game was a disgrace. Should not even be called a Halo game.

Gravegrind, nuff said.
-
Halo 2 was hardest because you couldn't cheese with co-op

Edited by A Jackal Sniper: 4/26/2016 1:14:10 PMIf anyone doesn't say halo 2 they are lying. Halo 5 was tough at some parts, but for the most part you could breeze through it.

I love Halo, but Dark Souls is harder. The only way someone could say different is if they've never bothered running a new game+ run. To compare a halo legendary run to ds would be to run a new game+4. Good luck.

Halo 2... End of story.

"HALO 2" best Halo ever :3 (for me) until halo 3 was epic

Ya know what's even worse than Halo 2 Legendary? Halo 2 Legendary..... Co-Op If one person dies it restarts anyway, you BOTH have to be flawless. That shit tested friendships!

Edited by Zonda: 4/26/2016 11:46:19 PMCE was only difficult on Legendary in areas with Elite Officers or higher rank, or any Elite in a Banshee. If you Caution and grenades are helpful in areas with infinite spawning Flood. The Two Betrayals had a lot of annoying enemies. 2 was a grindfest thanks to the absurdly overpowered Jackals that kill you the moment they're alerted to your presence, often shooting the beam sideways out of the barrel to do so. Elites were also ridiculous to go up against in this, pray you don't come up against an ultra piloting a Banshee or you'll need to empty a full Rocket Launcher to kill him. Moonbabies were annoying as hell too, and i ended up using speedrun techniques to cheese a lot of Delta Halo and High Charity, because I was just sick of fighting such uninteresting enemies. Halo 3 was one of the easiest ones, and the Jackal Snipers were significantly toned down in this, despite being a one shot kill. Brutes were relatively easy to dispose of and so were the flood, with the only genuinely hard parts of the game being the 2 infamous rooms on the level Cortana. Thankfully buggy AI prevented the Reactor Room from being a hailstorm of fire from those bullshit pure forms. It's weird that difficulty settings didn't seem to affect the Flood levels, aside from Elite combat forms having shields. ODST was just bullshit and gave every player a good reason to hate engineers. Your only option was the noob combo, especially with the Automag taking almost all of its ammo just to deplete any Brute's shields. It provided some difficulty in areas with a lot of enemies, but it wasn't the hardest game overall. Halo 4 was only ever hard when you were fighting Covenant with access to Plasma Turrets or any Elite. The Knights were pretty easy to deal with despite the jankiness of their headshot hitbox. Halo 5 wasn't too hard if you didn't rush. That game was good at concealing big groups of enemies in major areas of cover. Warden Eternal was pretty ridiculous to fight, making cheesing almost the only option.
-
I'd say Reach was a tad harder than 3 because you're fighting Elites again. Those -blam!-ers love to run and hide the second their shield is at 50%. Side note: >be me >playing halo 3 on legendary with all the skulls >last level >makin my way downtown >sees the dawn >begins sweating >hits final jump >on the RIGHT EDGE >cutscene is not triggered >falls to my death >thx Bungo >crie

Halo 2. Halo wars close second because of one mission, arcadia
-
Edited by Clever Name: 4/26/2016 5:38:26 PMWhat is the deal with everyone saying that Halo 2 is the hardest? Apart from sniper jackals, that campaign was more or less a breeze. CE is definitely the worst. Slow, clunky movement, combined with the fact that there were absolutely no ranged weapons apart from the magnum and sniper rifle made that campaign a nightmare.
-
Dude.. fck 2 lmao. Straight headache.
-
It would be halo 2 if I didn't despise the CE campaign so much... M
especially "the library" mission
-
I honestly thought the final halo 4 mission where you put Cortana on the pedestals was pretty -blam!-ing hard
