My name has been part of my gaming tradition since I first started gaming online. My whole family knew me as the 6yr old kid who would eat the most pies that my grandmother made for Thanksgiving so they started calling me stuff like Mr. Pie and stuff like that to reflect it.
Unfortunately my grandma died from a heart attack a couple of years later and her baking pies for the family was one of my fondest memories of her and the names that her and the family gave me I embraced them to honer her memory.
when my parents finally allowed me to get a e-mail address i choose the name evilpiemuncher as my first gaming name so i could play the games that yahoo had on their site.
When i was 13 my dad wanted me to try out for his Americas army clan he had and there i went by Mr pie for my log on there. I ended up killing the clans best member (ghostpeanut) during the tryout and shocked the whole clan by doing so. They started chanting pie killed peanut over the comms, it was awesome. I kept playing for a while after but wasn't really getting into the game though so i ended up quiting .
when got my first 360 in 2007 i had to make a gt for Xbox live. I wanted to keep going with the tradition since that's how people knew me by at this point and of course my grandmas memory. I ran into a problem though, every pie based name I could think of was taken.
So I racked my brain for what must have been 2hrs or so trying to think of a name. Soon I decided that the first set of words that I can combine with pie will be my tag. As it turned out OLDSMELLYPIE was the first. Been using it ever since and couldn't be happier with it.
I still remember the first raid grouped I worked with on this game thinking it was one of the dumbest random names they ever heard lol. I'm 25 now and still enjoying my dumb random name and will be for as long as I can lol.
