Back in the eary/ mid 1990's I was setting up my first AOL account since they were so nice as to give me a free CD-ROM with 60 minutes of free internet.....yes back then you paid by the hour to surf the internet. And no they didn't tell you how much time you used until they sent you a bill you never paid. That's where a stop watch came into play. When setting up my account I had to pick a username which back then was usually just your real name with no numbers or symbols. I had no idea what to use and my older sister jokingly said to use the name shroomboy. Not because of a drug thing like most think but because I had a bad 90's hair cut that made my head look like a mushroom. So when picking this name I made a typo and accidentally put 2 y's at the end and thus my name Shroomboyy came into existence. This has been my gamer tag since that day in the eary days of the interweb. It was my gamer tag on my original Bungie.net account that was deleted by Microsoft when they bought out Bungie. I was a big Myth player in those days in a very good clan that was usually ranked #1 Sadly this all came to an end when after waiting in line all night drinking with friends to receive my first ps3 on release day. I rushed home and found out I get to have a PSN account name. Well naturally I typed in what I thought was Shroomboyy. But in my drunken excitement I typed in Shoomboyy forgetting the r . like I said in line drinking all night :) So now Shoomboyy is my psn gamertag forever because Sony seems to not think we deserve to change our tags without making a whole new account. Sad thing was I didn't realize my mistake for over a year when one of my close friends pointed it out to me. Also not a drug thing I swear.
