I see no replies for yes so ill say my point. I would love backwards compatability, my ps3 is old and dying, it has about a 0.2 second delay for everything and the franes are dropping like flies inside a nuke. I just want to play skyrim again and its really not worth it to by a new ps3 at this point.
-
No. Why are they even doing the whole ps4.5 thing? It's almost as if consoles are trying to be PCs instead. I don't buy consoles for that. If I wanted an upgradable platform I would use my PC. Consoles should stop trying to be PCs and start being consoles again.
-
That would completely defeat the purpose of Playstation Now and being able to pay $100/yr for 400-500 games (or however many games they have).
-
No, Sony is lucky I even buy one of their consoles each generation. I'm not buying more of their crap.
-
No. Backwards compatibility has never and will never be a selling point to me. I buy new consoles to play new games. Not the same games I've already been playing for years.
-
Nah. Why would I buy something stronger that plays the exact same games as its predecessor? It just feels like buying a game I already own on console for PC then frame rate and resolution locking it to match my console.
-
Assuming the leaked specs are true, I don't think the PS4.5 would even be capable of emulating PS3 games smoothly.
-
Complete backwards compatibility? That'd probably be the only reason I'd get one, as I already have a standard PS4.
-
-
Division was delayed for years and people still bought it...
-
Finally doing what xbox one did months ago huh? Damn they needed to catch up.
-
People do realize that you can buy a used ps3 for like $100 if you don't already have one and you can play them all, not just what the developers decide. Being on xbox one it was just a bonus, making it easier to play them rather than hooking it up. It'd be pointless to buy a whole new console just to play old games though.
-
I have 3 PS3's in my home. No
-
Nah. I buy a new console for new games, not to play the same ones I've been playing for the past decade.
-
No because 1. Just rumors 2. It be the exact same thing as the ps4 I'm looking at now. 3. If I want to play last gen games, then I'll load up my ps3.
-
The real question is: Why do people still buy PlayStations? Can't play Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 2 on that mediocre console.
-
Actually........maybe. I still have lots of PS3 games I want to play and if it went back to PS2 then I got those as well.
-
Backwards compatability is really stupid... if I wanted to play a game I'd just get my ps3 out and play it.

Nah. Xbox is better.
Before I get shit on with hate, I'd like to explain myself. I giveth not a shit about which console has better graphics, because I can never tell. I bought an Xbox One for Halo 5, and it's previous exclusives. (Fuсk console exclusives. Even when Xbox had more I still hated them.) I also prefer the design of the Xbox controller. I don't hate on PS, I'm just not as big a fan of the controller design, and the fact that it doesn't have halo.
-
Nope. All it does would let you watch movies better and play some PS3 games. Not much reason to buy it TBH.
-
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Shitstation will never be like the Masterrace Console Xbox One
Or just the #PCMasterRace mlmlml fapping on my Titan Z Sli
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Kinda torn between no and yes. I feel like I just got my ps4 and now they are wanting me to buy another one.
-
No.
cause Xbox is better
-
I still have my ps3 so no. The 4.5 is probably just going to be a "slim" version of the current system anyway.
-
hell naw, i only just got my ps4
