Will we be a spacefaring race within the next 500 years?
By "spacefaring" I mean the ability to live in/utilize space (asteroid mines, fast travel like lightspeed, harnessing greater energy sources, terraforming planets, etc.)

Baring civilization ending catastrophes, easily. People seriously underestimate how powerful exponential technological growth is. At that point though, the human race might not be recognizable.
