A now 13-year-old boy says he’s haunted by the image of his mother pulling his younger brother into a basement bathroom and hearing him scream “you’re killing me”
The six-year-old victim later told police that his mother said “they were going to be safe from dad” before cutting his neck and putting him in a bathtub with running water, court heard during the woman’s sentencing at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench on Monday
The woman showed a level of planning when she locked the doors and blocked the windows with pillows after her ex-husband came to her home
This evil bitch who tried to kill her own sons just so her ex husband couldn't take custody of them is getting away with only 5 and a half years in prison.
She clearly showed that she had planned it beforehand and she had no mental problems. This is attempted child murder.
If a man did this he would be locked away for life, but this bitch is just getting put away for 5 years.
Why is it that women get much shorter and lighter sentences than men?
Edit: Can we not have this thread devolve into a circle-jerk of feminism hating and actually have a discussion though?

Wait until you see this bullshit. Equality my ass.

That was Murder 1 (premeditated) which should be 50 to life. Since it was a child, it's special circumstances which is automatic Life Without Parole. The mental issue on the woman might have dropped it to murder 2 but it's still LWOP for specials...

1. this is in canada, they have different laws and treat individuals differently. I'm making the assumption you are referring to american laws so please tell me if I'm wrong. 2. She was charged with attempted murder but pled down. this means that she was given a deal and she took it. this is not a issue of women inequality compared to men it is one of whether pleading in the court system is an effective tool. 3. She is suffering (according to the psychologist in the article) from depression and related symptoms. we call these mitigating factors. this means they lessen the sentence the judge or magistrate can impose. and because this individual did not go to court she cannot be placed in a mental institution. over all don't make this into something its not... also we don't know what will happen in 5 years. for all we know the court will throw her into an institution. However, we do know she will never be allowed near children of any persuasion again.

Women only want equality when it benefits them. #facts

Edited by Astrachalasia: 4/21/2016 1:25:27 AM
Crown prosecutor William Collins said the incident was at the high end of the aggravated assault spectrum because of the “extremely serious wounds” and the fact the victim was vulnerable and couldn’t defend himself.
Yes, thank you William Collins. That's called attempted murder. Asshat. Edit: Just read the rest. Said she had a dissociative disorder during the stabbing, which means she had a loss of consciousness or, more likely, a sort of "replacement" of consciousness where she isn't 100% aware what she's doing- this means she has had serious trauma in the past. While that does explain her shortened sentence, it doesn't explain why the justice system has failed to transfer her to an insane institution.

Don't say such things, I agree with you, but you'll bring the feminist here.

In the US it's flipped. Women tend to get harsher sentences. Texas is the most extreme. That doesn't excuse it or balance it out. Neither gender should get lighter punishment for crimes as horrific as this.

Hello, I'm a rapist but since it is my word against hers, i mean, she was asking for it, i mean, look at what she was wearing, i mean, she is a slut anyway, I get off with no charge at all. GTFO with your inequality bull$hit

Edited by WhiteMidnight666: 4/20/2016 10:05:52 PMLol this isn't anything new. Look at marriage courts since alimony and no fault divorce became. Alimony is only now seen as a problem because WOMEN are experiencing having to pay it 2-5% of the time in recent years. Feminism got their claws in the family courts and legal system years ago, hell decades ago. Literally the only thing that would fix it would be a revolution, a very violent one lol. Men would have to rise up and start making heads roll and forcfully change the laws before they could ever make the laws to be even a little fair lol. Edit: I feel bad for this kid. It's rather amusing because statistics have actually shown that mothers are much more likely on average to harm/kill their own children then men are. The whole mothers are better care givers than men thing is also another product of feminism that happened in around the 60's I believe. They made it so that women get preferential treatment in child custody courts.

If there is to be equality, it needs to be through out everything! Thus no double standards. That means: No Affirmative Action Equal wages Public Nudity equality and much much more. With how the decline between Federal and State relations is going, I doubt a nationwide standard would be implemented any time soon. Some states still have Sodomy listed as a felony ffs, it's all fudged up I tell yah!!!

Blocking the doors isn't showing planning it shows hiding of evidence. Kinda wrong there.

Personally, I believe all attempted murders should be life in prison, no matter the details.
