Hello-Guardians(^-^)/ !
One of me & my Fireteams favorite things to notice in this beautiful gamerworld of ours is a clever Gamertag ! Whether it's a fellow Guardian at the Tower or an opponent in the Crucible, a good Gamertag is always appreciated.
So share with us the origin of your gamertag! Why did you choose it & what does it mean to you? No judgements here(^.^)!
I'll start: Professor Hikita is a character from one of my Fireteams favorite 1984 scifi movies "Buckaroo Banzai" , he was the Japanese scientist on Team Buckaroo responsible for inventing the Over Thruster( I recommend the movie if you haven't caught it yet ). Most of my gamer friends use names from this movie.
We really welcome you guys to share with us your "Batman" names here!
Thanks always for your kindness & attention
(^-^)/

I got mine from my Xbox (original) live experience. First name is Dave so I put that into the tag field when signing up. Course Dave was taken, but it made a couple of suggestions and Seismic_dave was one of them. I thought it sounded ok and was more interested in getting the account set up rather than the name on the account. I've had it through the Xbox, Xbox 360, Ps1, ps2 and now the PS4. Never saw a reason to change, I can remember it, a key issue, the older I get.

Sweed is my nickname, which is also my fake name

Runetheflameborn, rune is a symbol often equated with knowledge and power, so knowledge and power born of flame.

Well I want to do something with "Icy", so I decided to start with that and "Raven" came from a game called "MAG" and Raven was one of the factions. The "919" came from the Porsche 919 hybrid LMP.

Edited by Sir Maximoose: 5/1/2016 11:23:08 PMWell it was going to be Sir Maximus, but that was taken, so I extended the pronunciation of the "u". Been thinking of changing it to Maxcalibur though, as a play on words of Excalibur.

As a kid, I fell in love with the original StarFox on SNES. I also played in arcades. Where u have to put a 3 or 4 letters to represent ones self. Mine was Fox, because they called me Fox all throughout my favorite game (at the time). And since I likes the way Chaos sounded (remind u, I'm 6-8yo), so if I had 4 letters I put in Caos. And it went that way for years. Until the IRC gave me the opportunity to use a full name for my Nick. So I decided to put them together. ChaoticFox... But after YEARS of using Caos, Chaotic didn't feel like me. So I "looked @ CaoticFox"... And liked it... So I've been CaoticFox for 20+ years now. Named after one of my favourite music movements of the early 90's. Added 555 after the Slipknot Heretic Anthem (as my partner in crime has a '666' gamertag and he is more of a beast in games than me).

So this Soccer coach I had when I was younger used to call me Mort. I also like Star Wars so it was Jedi Mort for me. Mort means death by the way

Well, stentorian means loud and powerful (of a voice) which I have and Lid started from a spelling error of my name and it just stuck

I wanted something with Venom, but i also wanted double capitals so i came up with ViciousVenom. Buuut i spelled it wrong so now its ViscousVenom.

I started gaming on PC WAAAAY back in the day and I was always "Death". That sounded like I was trying too hard so it changed to "UglyDuck" (origin unknown...I was stoned or drunk a lot during this time and don't remember much). I went into the Army (not throwing it out there for props, it's an origin story so it's included there) in 2002 and pretty much stopped any online gaming. When I got home in 2007, I started back with XBL (I played a lot of Halo). I tried UglyDuck again but it was taken. I thought and thought and thought until I yelled at my dog for doing something that dogs shouldn't do (I don't really remember that either...my memory is kinda shit now) and had a eureka moment. The 0 is there because the version with an O was taken and I was set on the name. Been that way ever since. The majority of the time people think it's "Badoogie" which I guess is OK, too.

As an avid magic the gathering player, the myr creature type was always my favorite. It's also half my last name of 'Plummer". Being in the Marines got me used to going by that, so it seemed the best of both worlds.

I thought long and hard about what beverages were ONLY suitable for babies, then made it my psn name to educate people I encounter online.

Well, when I first got Xbox live the summer of my freshman year in high school, it gave me some shitty gamertag, I had absolutely no idea what it meant. And you know all the little kids wanna try to make their own clans, so I decided to name mine "Gold" because of the gold gun camos in COD. And I just thought of different parts of the guns that were gold, so I chose the magazine because I almost always had extended mag on in MW3. So I changed my gamertag to Gold Maggz. I then ran into a guy that was interested in letting me be in his clan due to a 50+ quickscoping game I had against him in MW3. So my gamertag changed to its clan-oriented version, InSaNe Maggz. Me and that guy played together for at least two years a ton. But then I realized I didn't really like the idea of being in a clan, or at least in a clan that wasn't my own, and the same guy had changed his gamertag away from the clan gamertag, so I figured it wouldn't be a problem since I was playing a lot more destiny anyways. So I just made the gamertag my own and was going to use simply "Maggz" but that was taken so I tried to make it a little unique and doing what you see my gamertag as now. And here I am.

I just thought it wasn't funny

When I was a little boy like 4-5 I was afraid of monsters under the bed and in my closet like other kids are. Well I was a little hellion when I was a kid so my father told me that if I wasn't good the Boogeyman would get me. For weeks I was afraid of the Boogeyman in my closet and I was certain he would get me eventually. So I'd bring little weapons to bed with me to protect against the Boogeyman but I was still scared shitless. One night I just started talking to the monster under my bed and reasoned with him and made a deal so he wouldn't get me. I began talking to him nightly and eventually I thought of him as a friend. I remember the presence of him being soo real that i'd look under my bed but never saw him, I just figured he was hiding. Over time I eventually felt safe and didn't worry. He crossed my mind every once in a while but I eventually forgot about him. When I got older and learned that there were no such thing as monsters I thought back on all the nights I was talking to him when in reality was just talking to myself. All they time I was reasoning with my own irrational fear. It was all in my head. The monsters aren't under our beds, the monsters are the people in the bed. So I refer to myself as a monster/Boogeyman. Because after all, it's us that create the monsters in our head

When I was 13 years ago making my dA account I asked my little brother at the time 9 years what my user name should be, he said, "coolestawesome10" I'm terrible at naming so I went with it. At the time I was a hardcore brony so I often be in the chatrooms rping with others, they often complained my name was too long do they said "Coolesta" instead, for a while I went with it until one day I decided to at Mr. in front of my name, from that day on I went by the alias MrCoolesta

Edited by Wicked: 4/30/2016 2:19:39 AMThe interview with the Marine recon grunt and the reporter. She says "what do you feel when you shoot an insurgent?" He shrugs and says, without missing a beat, "recoil ma'am.." I am also a Marine, and a grunt, and I thought: 'yes. So much yes.'

VorpalPuppy. Vorpal is a word made up by Lewis Carroll in the poem Jabberwocky from Through the Looking Glass. It doesn't have an actual definition but basically means deadly and was used to describe the Vorpal Blade, the deadly weapon used to kill the Jabberwock. So my name means Deadly Puppy. Tremble in fear.
