Hello-Guardians(^-^)/ !
One of me & my Fireteams favorite things to notice in this beautiful gamerworld of ours is a clever Gamertag ! Whether it's a fellow Guardian at the Tower or an opponent in the Crucible, a good Gamertag is always appreciated.
So share with us the origin of your gamertag! Why did you choose it & what does it mean to you? No judgements here(^.^)!
I'll start: Professor Hikita is a character from one of my Fireteams favorite 1984 scifi movies "Buckaroo Banzai" , he was the Japanese scientist on Team Buckaroo responsible for inventing the Over Thruster( I recommend the movie if you haven't caught it yet ). Most of my gamer friends use names from this movie.
We really welcome you guys to share with us your "Batman" names here!
Thanks always for your kindness & attention
(^-^)/

Edited by temp-190744: 4/27/2016 12:08:10 AMPlayStation made me pick A1Eyed_Pirate as my name because my first one was banned

Because my friends kept calling me by a nickname, I told them that if it was open and that they'd pay for it, that I'd switch my gamertag. Well, lo and behold, it was available.
-
Wait you get to pick?

Edited by PixelReign: 4/26/2016 6:29:15 PMPixelReign... 'Pixel' because thats my field of operation at work. I translate static interaction designs to the actual working UI for applications, paying attention to every little detail, where my collegues always call me the UI-master, guru, pixelperfect or something like that. I'm always told being the only person at the office who's capable of doing it with that much detail and precision, which is very cool to hear. Proud of that and thats where 'Reign' comes from. I don't know... It sounded cool, catchy and was actually not in use already. :)

I was an army medic for 7 years from 76-83 and my best friend was a ranger....I picked the name in memory of him ....he was killed in the Gulf war

I was loopy on my stomach meds, had 10 bucks in credit floating around, got bored and hit up the suggestion wheel. 3 spins and this baby appeared. I am quite pleased

Funny thing, that. I used to watch this anime a while back (anime isn't really my thing, but I happened to like it at the time). Someone had this move called Power Shield. And I thought it was pretty cool at the time. So next time I had a username to put in on a game account, I used that. First thing that came to mind, I guess. The incorrect spelling was... I can't really remember actually. Either a spur of the moment kinda thing, or I spelt it wrong, or it was taken. Something like that. I still stick with it, although I'm constantly being told about it being wrong. Makes it unique, you know? And it's also never taken anywhere. And so the name stuck. And now I just use it for everything. So there you have it. What about yours?

Well, I'm left handed so it only seemed fitting.

I've gone by Dawgface since about 7th grade (that was almost 30 years ago...). Dawgface was already taken by the time I set up my psn account, so it put my address at the end, so Dawgface220.

The Boogey Man = primordial fear felt as a child. That which goes bump in the night. That feeling of a presence under your bed, in the closet or hiding in the darkness. Its a feeling that i feel everyone shares, but gets buried deep down the older you get. Also, because who am i kidding, the oogie boogie from Nightmare before Xmas was my favorite char in that movie (maybe even in any movie.....maybe). The 951 is simply a dash across the number pad.

It's a bone thugs and harmony song.

My name+what I like to do
-
Look at mine. I wanted to originally make my PSN "Playstation5" cuz I thought it would be funny. Turns out, it was taken (for some reason)! I then added an extra L in my name, and there we have it! Shortly after I made my PSN, I realized I forgot the "y" in "playstation" Fml

I chose my tag because I'm currently getting my phd and think that video games are damn good medicine.

Terra is Latin for Earth/Land which is also the name of a Kingdom Hearts character I like. Brad is my nickname and king because royalty is cool. TerraKingBrad=King of the land Brad. It's cheesy I know. Made it years ago but it's stuck with me for so long I find it hard to change.
-
It's my name, kinda.
-
mine was from a friend in an mmo I used to play.
-
"ChronicIer" references my favourite toy line as a kid: Bionicle In the first movie, the main character went on a journey for the "Mask of Light", and his companion's role was to document the others journey. I like history a lot, so the name seemed a good fit... and a fantastic replacement for "bionicboy98".
I still cringe at 11 year old me.
my big bountiful and beautiful beard and love for 69

I am easy to kill, so I chose a name that would reflect that.

Yoru Ryooshi Started using the name back in UO.

This is very easy. The second half, dv85, is derived from an author name I still use when writing and posting fan fiction. The first half, digi, was added to express my interest in a certain anime that I base the fiction off of. Yet strangely enough everyone I know on Xbox Live calls me simply dig because of an off chance conversation that occurred on my first VoG run. Someone in the group of six I was in asked me how to pronounce my gamertag. I replied as I intended it to be pronounced; ( di-gee-dee-vee-eight-five) But the same person, and to this day I have no idea who it was said back: "That's too long. We're calling you dig from now on." Now everyone I have met refers to me as that. I never officially endorsed the call sign but whatever, beggars can't be choosers and if it ain't broke don't fix it as they say.

I originally wanted to call myself PwawnCwacker but I picked up a nickname in the army - ironmike - and that made a better and less potentially racist gamertag

WhiteAlRoker micro God. I was a pretty good online poker player till it got banned and dominated the cheap buy ins(micros)
