Ignite is the damage over time affect applied when a Sunsinger lands his Melee attack, called Scorch. In addition this affect can be applied with grenades if the Warlock chooses to select Touch of Flame, and have its duration increased (Viking Funeral).
Unfortunately, all abilities tied to hits and kills with Scorch do only that; no abilities trigger on Ignite hits or kills. This simple fact, coupled with the lack of any initial damage bonus for Scorch, seriously downplays Scorch-kill triggered abilities. It is hard to justify sacrificing the ability to gain an overshield with a melee hit (Flame Shield) with the potential to cause a single killed enemy to explode (Brimstone), even after taking cooldown alterations into account.
My thought is this: shouldn't Ignite trigger Scorch related abilities or conversely be able to be replaced (with a talent) for a solid damage buff?
I realize that doing either would require a trickle effect of alterations to talents for proper balancing. However, it would also offer a good excuse to further refine other "builds." For example, a Sunsinger can self-rez; they could (should) be able to tag a downed teammate with a grenade or melee to revive (or at least begin health regen).
That is to say, although a Sunsinger possesses many great support talents, these talents for the most part are stand-alone with no alternative or cross-talent compatability in comparison to the multitude of options and skill-stacking choices offered by both voidwalker and Stormcaller.
I've done got myself off-topic, but I'd like to hear (or read...) the opinions of others on the subject.
Perhaps I am missing something...
