The first comes in a shadow.
A window becomes a door.
An ebb becomes a gulf.
The second comes in bones.
Tithes offering feasts, carrying laws.
A path torn, minds shattered.
The third does not come alone. It cannot.
Our truths woven into their being, desires beyond our own.
The first needs the second to fail, the third needs the first to succeed.
The second will never cease, yet the first always prevails. The third is born of all outcomes.
Unless, all ends flow from the same pit.
Eliksni come in the shadow of what they once were, a window of opportunity becomes a door, but their constant ebb of ether dries up.
The Hive come in bones, offering their tithe to their gods who follow Sword Logic, a path torn, Toland's mind Shattered.
The Vex do not come alone, because they are one mind in several bodies. Our universal truths woven into their being, desiring to be that meaning.
The Eliksni need the Hive to fail in destroying the Traveler, but the Vex need the Eliksni to succeed in defeating us because they can't.
The Hive will never stop, And yet the Eliksni survive (cue Zavala's voice) they always do, and the Vex are born into all realities.
The last line, thank you Dropslash from DGhost Stories, is obviously Osiris speaking. The line is near identical to the intro to the Shrine of Oryx mission.
I would also like to mention his theory in short.
The first line is Guardians, the second the Hive, the third the Nine.

What if, a path torn, is the decisions of Mara Sov?
