Despite a few of the wrong doings behind the April update, I've got to hand it to the Live Team over at Bungie for doing such a great job on remaking the "Winter's Run" strike.
When it finally rotated to this strike, I was ecstatic, as I am the type of person whom likes to constructively criticize Destiny's content.
During the ending conclusion of the strike, I was very impressed. The strike had a series of 'webbing mines' riddled about, and also included, "The Vex" soundtrack during our Ghost's three decryptions on the gateway forward. It was a nice addition.
I also noticed some very interesting combat regarding the fact that not only did they give us a reintroduction to the 'Heavy Pikes', but also implemented Yellow - healthed Minotaurs, which did a damn good job at bombarding your Pike.
It's true that I could've just drove past them, but I wanted to replay the whole experience due to the new additions and tougher enemies.

They also had heavy ammo crates placed in chosen areas, which became handy.
Once my fireteam and I defeated the surrounding Fallen, the battle with Aksor had begun. (It was not the Taken version.)
Aksor did not stand in one place during the entire time that I fired upon him. He changed his tactics and fled into the caves towards the back of the map, forcing my teammates and I to defeat the Fallen Captains and High Servitors which blocked our approach to acquire another heavy ammo crate.
After defeating them, Aksor stands his ground at the top of the hill for the four of you to "duke it out". Exotic swords were the best option, but I am a simple man. I use heavy machine guns. ;) (I still do enjoy the use of swords, no doubt.)
Overall, this revamped version of Winter's Run is a lot more action-packed and requires you to think differently.
Winter's Run is no longer a strike with a bullet sponge boss.
Unless you use an Exotic sword, that is.
NOT BAD, but a job well done, Bungie.
