"Blighted Chalice" strike!? Oh, you mean the Taken Moon Patrol mission...
"Malok, Pride of Oryx", they say. As a whole, this strike has been given the title for the shortest strike in Destiny. Even shorter than, "The Nexus".
Yes, I'm aware of the fact that he was meant to become easily defeated because of the introduction to this new strike was only a mere level 36, but after defeating him during the Nightfall, there were no significant changes between the two difficulty levels.
Needless to say, when Malok supposedly "changes tactics", it doesn't even matter considering the circumstances regarding him are a breeze as long as you had Shadowshot with a sniper rifle or Weapons of Light with a heavy machine gun.
His overall mechanics aren't what you'd consider as, "highly anticipating" either, as he momentarily moves from left to right and spews 3-4 bolts towards you between long pauses of just standing there...
I'm not ranting nor am I hating on this new strike but AM calling it out for what is really is. If you like it, then you like it. I enjoyed the concept of it, but did not enjoy the gameplay.
The "Blighted Chalice" strike is not what it's name suggests but rather seems more like a Taken Patrol mission you would experience on "Patrol the Moon" since both conclude with an oversized knight at the 'Shrine of Oryx'. His health bar is inefficient, his mechanics are mediocre, and his threat level is lesser than that of a dreg.
I can assure you that you'd find the Taken Patrol mission to be of much more entertainment, unless you're farming for the "Hood of Malok", which looks pretty cool.
Anyway, for my conclusion, I'd like to say,
Happy Hood of Malok hunting, Hunters...
But this strike is not a loss for words.
(Tell me what YOU think about the "Blighted Chalice" strike!)
