Do you guys think that by decentralizing the American government we could make all the states a bit more happy? I think we can all agree that the USA is far too large and diverse for blanket laws made by the federal government to make the population happy. Of course I don't mean dissolving the country, but instead just allowing the states more power to do as they see fit (while abiding by the constitution of course). For example, here in Washington state people are generally fond of the idea of socialized medicine. However, people in South Carolina do not share that same sentiment. This same idea could apply to numerous issues such as; gun control, education, welfare, environmental regulation, so on and would allow people in one state to do what they think would improve their quality of life without directly negatively affecting people thousands of miles away.

No, because then laws can become dramatically different in states so you go into another state and end up breaking a shit ton of laws for things that are legal in your state but not in here, also there would be no standards for education and public services
