I think I could have made the low poly less detailed, given the fact my normal map barely shows up.
This took me about 45 minutes to model:

Pretty groovy. Just a tip for the future.. It's very rare for a tree branch to be smaller at the trunk attachment than it is further out on the branch itself. This is because trees form a bulge at the point of limb connection called a "branch collar" used for stability and sending nutrients. Just a heads up because I'm an anal tree guy.
