Destiny quickly became one of my favorite FPS games of all time after I played the beta. After months and months of nonstop playing, leveling, and discovering, like everyone else, I got bored. I still played but it was oh so empty and simply not as fun as when I was new. When the Update 2.0 came out (before TTK) I was stoked. I've never been more happy or excited about a game in my life. I quickly came home from school, logged on and checked to see if any friends were on. Of course there were so I party'd up and played Rift and Mayhem Clash for hours, yelling, laughing, having so much fun. As a high school Junior, of course I was piled with homework but I was way too excited to think about it. I miss that feeling of excitement and happiness for something so silly as a video game. Anyone feel the same way? Mayen not necessarily Destiny but for other things.

I get that with MMO's. I've played a lot of them since Meridian 59 in 1996 and there is no feeling like seeing everything for the first time. The problems come after that. Once you've seen it, it needs to be something special to keep you coming back but you will never get that "first time" feeling again. Sadly I find very few games that keep me going back. Games like Fallout 3/NV and the Elder Scrolls games for obvious reasons (mods) have kept me playing them for years (and the reason i'll stop buying them if they ever add multiplayer, it will kill modding). It's one of the reasons i'm looking forward to No Man's Sky. At the end of the day it could be a terrible game but the idea of playing a game on that scale does appeal to me. Seeing things for the first time, getting to name discoveries.
