Concerns on Exclusives
I recently read up about the April update and I was astonished to see that Playstation has yet again gotten more exclusive content. Exclusives in general just irritate me because it shows that the developer, Bungie in this case, favors one side to the other. I understand that Bungie and Microsoft ended in a bad note when Microsoft rejected the potential Destiny in 2008 and told Bungie to make Halo ODST instead. Since then, Bungie has been all about Playstation since the revival of Destiny in 2014.
I just wanted to add my opinion to the situation. Bungie has a certain unpleasant past with Xbox, I understand that. However, I still don't understand why Bungie seems to leave us in the dust. Playstation gets more sparrows, strikes, weapons, shaders, armor, etc., almost a quarter more content than Xbox. Bungie probably has a paid deal with Playstation, whatever, but its still unfair to push Xbox users under the dust. Can we get something exclusive? Even a simple shader would be nice. I just want to see Bungie giving each side an equal amount of different exclusive content, or just get rid of it in general.
Im almost positive Playstation users are going to come to this Topic and promote how Playstation is superior. Us Xbox users understand that, and we get it.
All Im trying to say is that Bungie should give Xbox at least a shader to show us they arent being biased as a developer.
Kind of a rant, and kind of messy, but those were my thoughts. Its just not fair that Playstation has even more content with future updates, even if its due to Bungie and Playstation having a contract together. I love this game, but it's getting out of hand.

3 RepliesSeriously I hate these posts. Even though I own ps4 I used to Xbox360. Alot of games so this exclusive to certain systems shit. I'll agree that waiting a whole year is insane but don't preach we paid the same to get less. Instead of making posts to try and get bungie to stop exclusives. We should put our time in something we all want, desire, and need. More content. This is the only game I've ever played that dlcs take more than they give. If I created vog or crotas end I'd be upset. It's like they don't care about them. Vog is extensive. Alot of year 2 players don't get to play it. Nor do they get to experience the thrill we did. All content should be playable and viable. We shouldn't be forced to play 3 things. I still can't understand why they haven't brought them all forward. Poe is fun but I mean come on guys. We wanted vog more.

Correction for you it's Activision bungie's man handler who has a contract with PlayStation at least the content is timed exclusives and not permanent I like to think bungie had a hand in that

No its not that bungie favors playstation more than Microsoft... that's very unprofessional... playstation has these exclusives because Sony paid more EXTRA money for these exclusives

8 RepliesBungie don't favour anyone. The fact is that PS offered more money than Microsoft to get the exclusives. PS saw the potential in Destiny and backed them which shows great foresight and management. Xbox is poorly managed and so they consistently make bad decisions and choices.

2 Repliescome on guys, you knew when you bought it it was a PS exclusive game. Fact is the fight is between Micr and PS and we the players are the ones that suffer. So your complaints should be directed at them ,not here. Here no one heres anything.And it's not like xbox doesn't have their exclusive games. I don't choose one system over the other, they both have their good and bad points. But your taking your exclusion fight to the wrong alley

2 RepliesMy dissatisfaction comes with the lack of transparency with the exclusivity. They won't even tell us how long this is going to last. If PlayStation exclusives are going to remain PlayStation only, the community has the right to know.

6 RepliesI guess those of you xbox players that think exclusivity is unfair don't understand how business works in the real world. Companies exist to make profits, competitive advantages are ALWAYS sought after and exclusivity agreements are very common between manufacturers and distributors. This is no different, it is not a moral decision, it is not punitive, it is the nature of doing business. It is not because Bungie wants to get back at MS, it has everything to do with Sony looking for a competitive advantage. It makes perfect sense and even if the shoe was on the other foot and xbox had the material exclusivity...NO, I would not be whining that it is unfair and punitive, I may not like it but I understand the nature of doing business. Please stop with the I'm a poor xbox user who can't get a certain gun, shader, or whatever it is very juvenile and naive of you not to understand these simple facts of doing business.

That is the plain truth. The way I see it, it's outside money that is getting poured into the game. Without it, the game would probably feel less complete than it does now. It's a contractual obligation. And regardless of how people view contracts, It's how a business works. Bungie is a business just as much as they are developers.

Well for one there is no way we get a quarter more content. The exclusives make up a very small portion of playable/obtainable content. That being said, yes exclusives are bad. But here's the thing, I doubt enough people care enough to boycott every video game that comes with exclusive content. Which is exactly what it would take to put a stop to it. Just like we should really stop preordering games, or buying legendary editions, or really any extra editions, or season passes for dlc, the list goes on I'm sure. All these things are bad for us in the long run. But until it stops being profitable it won't change. Now I'm not saying don't voice your opinion. You should and hopefully if enough people get behind the idea someday we might see some change. But it's not going to happen soon or fast or have any real effect on destiny 1.
