The only reason she can be defeated by the warriors of light in III & XIV is because they are imbued with the light of the crystal. She can take a direct hit from the beam & regenerate or theoretically since the beam is not imbued she can take that shit sitting down.

I'll dig around... I am not to sure, I thought I read that regen part somewhere, but it was a while back I will have to find it. even so, she is a cloud and if she were to disperse I'm sure they will reattach. But that's my theory and I'll look around for the lore.
