In your estimation, do you think Destiny II will be implementing a new game engine, or sticking with the same one as right now?
A lot of players believe Destiny II will release on current-gen only, and ought to run at 60 frames per second. Some might say this opportunity warrants an upgrade on the part of the game engine. I'm curious as to whether the sequel will essentially look the same as it does now on PS4/XBOne, or whether it will surprise us with noticeably improved graphics and AI.
Also, there have been rumors in the past month that the current-gen consoles will be releasing 4K-ready upgrades in the near future. Not to further spread something possibly untrue (Sony hasn't yet commented on these rumors), but if it were by chance true, do you think Destiny II would be taking advantage of the more powerful hardware?
Are a new game engine and 4K graphics important to you in the next iteration of Destiny? I'd like to know!
P.S. This isn't a petition to get Bungie to change anything in their production line. Obviously they've already started working on Destiny II and either have a new game engine already or not. This is purely out of curiosity to find out what people think, and what their expectations may be.

all I hope for is that I can use any gear I want, still have all of my stats and I can transfer my destiny 1 gear to destiny 2.
-
I would wish they spend all there time on destiny 2 to make it good. Hopefully they make bid improvements to the game like story and stuff. They where heading the right direction with TTK but it was a little to late by then.
-
It's possible, they've had people working on Destiny 2 since Destiny launched so that's 2-3 years or more of dev time when it's finished.
-
Unlikely, but hopefully.
-
I dunno about the engine, but Bungie's been using Grognok for map-building since 2009. So I don't think that'll change at all.
-
It will be mostly destiny 1 and ttk Re - skinned.
-
Literally cannot use a different engine. Code doesn't work that way. Now what can be done is they can increase current engines AI, graphic texture and color, and last it can expand frame rate speed and loading speeds. Nothing else could be done different with the same engine.
-
Bungie putting more effort into anything beyond just the barebones? If anything they'll downgrade to prove a point: Bungie>you.
-
I mean I would say old game engine because technically it's just Destiny year 3, and they won't make a new engine for an update.
-
This is Activision you're talking about here. If they won't give up the money to have a new engine for CoD, their best selling franchise, what makes you think they would let Bungie build a new engine for Destiny?
