Heard lots of good things about the series, but never played a single game. Looking to get into it, which game should I start out with? Majora's Mask for the 3DS looks interesting, and had great reviews. Should I check that one out first? What do you guys think?

Try Ocarina of time Or majoras mask

A Link To The Past is timeless fun

I would start with Twilight Princess. Even though Ocarina of Time is likely the GoaT, it is easier to love the graphics in TP and you will fall in love with the franchise after finishing it.

A link between worlds on the 3ds is pretty great.

Majoras mask is probably one of the best in the series

Twilight Princess has an HD remake on the WiiU and that's a fun one

Ocarina of Time

Edited by Zonda: 4/6/2016 1:33:53 PMI personally wouldn't start with MM or OoT. The former's save system is pure jank and both games suffer from a severe case of "you-need-a-walkthrough-to-be-able-to-do-anything-in-the-first-30-minutes-of-the-game-itis." My vote goes to Twilight Princess if you have access to a GameCube, Wii or Wii-U. The problem solving is far less draconian than the other two and is, in my opinion, the best game in the entire franchise. Wind Waker is also worth a look at from all reports. If you're looking to play the games in order of Canon timeline placement (I personally wouldn't due to the sheer Jankiness of the Zelda Timeline), Skyward Sword is your starting point.

You don't need to play them I'm any order. Majora's Mask is good but Ocarina of Time is quite easily the best Zelda ever made. Ocarina of Time is more traditional style of Zelda where as Majora's Mask is more of a weird one, good, but different. I would get Ocarina of Time first then Majora's Mask.

I tried majoras mask Not my type of game having a reset and forgeting what you did Can't wait to try twillight princess

Majora's Mask is the most difficult game of the entire series. Ocarina of Time is still regarded as one of the best games of all time, and is also available for the 3DS, so I'd highly recommend starting with that. Ocarina of Time also preceeds Majora's Mask in terms of the Zelda Universe (split) time line, so it makes more sense to start there. The Zelda series is my all time favorite, so let me know if you have any other questions.
