Particles are entangled if their properties cannot be described by the individual particles themselves.
Basically, if I take an electron here, and I change its spin, which causes the spin of an electron across the universe to change, these properties cannot be explained by just one of the electrons, and so they are entangled.

Wow, well done. I didn't expect a correct answer to be honest, getting into deep mechanics like that gets pretty mind wrenching.

Edited by JohnnyTooFastToGet: 4/5/2016 10:14:44 PMWhich is mind blowing to think two particles can be entangled at an infinite distance which kind of messed up the theory of light being the fastest thing in the universe. I LOVE SPACE SCIENCE SHIT!
