Why is the Earth flat?
Lol
Real question:
All galaxies are held together by black holes or super massive stars...right?

Well, just about all of them. There is evidence of dwarf galaxies without center black holes, and other galaxies which have gotten their black hole kicked out by another merging galaxy. But for the most part, yes, you can expect a black hole at the center.

What happens when that black hole evaporates?

Edited by The Cellar Door: 4/5/2016 6:51:32 PM...nothing. It's not there anymore....because it evaporated.... The size of a SMBH provides a much longer life than anything major in the galaxy, if it were to evaporate, it would just be a dead galaxy.

Sorry I meant to the galaxy that it's the center of

I know one thing for sure. Me and you will never know the answer to that lol. We will be LONG gone by the time a SMBH at the center of a galaxy dies. But I assume that everything in it would just kind of start slowing drifting away in all directions since there isn't anything with a strong enough gravity to hold it together.
