Transmog has been on this list since the beginning and it's my most wanted feature in this game.

They need to add a child table to Database which has current guardian gear and an appearance values. Then update armor table to have appearance value, probably a model file. Then values for armore perks. This is a patch, though rebuild Destiny 2 database to reflect this better.
