Lets talk about guitars
What kind of guitar do you guys play, I've been playing guitar for +- 10 years now (started when I was 10 y o) but due to lack of funds you might find my setup quite basic. My go to guitars right now are a Alhambra model 1c for acoustic and a ESP LTD M-50 for electric. I really like both of these, but don't really like the stock pickups in the ESP (looking to replace them with EMG's or something of the sorts). For amp I have a cheap fender (Mustang II V2). So what do you guys play?

Les Paul studio. That thing is my go to. When I song write, I literally write the song around it's sound. Lessy is my dream guitar. Such great sound. [spoiler]and I read the tags #nextlevel[/spoiler]

Oh yeah baby!!! Been playing for 24 yrs . I have : Fender SRV signature american strat with gold hardware. Schecter C-1 classic Gibson SG 3 or 4 various Mexican strats. Jackson sunburst electric Fender squire solid black strat. (First electric ) Republic "weathered" brass bodied dobro. (Love playing the slide) Various acoustics Crate amp and original crybaby wah wah pedal.

I'm too casual of a player to ever have put much effort into getting the best brand or even know what the best brands are. That said, I have a fender stratocaster which rarely gets used (the tuning gets out of whack so fast and I have no idea why). But I also have an acoustic which I play pretty much exclusively.

I have a Jackson Performer PS-4 with a floyd rose, three pickups (bridge humbucker, middle single-coil, neck humbucker) and an upside-down headstock. I think it's a pretty heavy metal guitar

Schecter Hellraiser played through a Hughes & Kettner Warp 7 half stack and a crate 212. Mostly Boss effects but I do have a couple Digitech pedals a Crybaby wah and a Barber LTD.

Edited by Crapolio: 4/5/2016 12:25:38 PMI've been playing for about 9 years, here's what I've got: -Yamaha Pacifica (the first guitar I ever owned) -Jackson Warrior WRXT (with Seymour Duncan Blackouts...fantastic pickups) -Schecter C1 Plus -Gibson Les Paul Studio -Some Ibanez acoustic collecting dust... I just got a Crate cab and Line 6 Spider IV Head to replace the combo I have been using for 9 years. Still need to really dive into it and dial in the sounds I want.

Edited by Upperclass Bum: 4/5/2016 11:31:20 AMI've only been playing for four years, had a beater lying around since 2007, but didn't really have the means of getting serious with it (something I really wish I could go back and change). Currently I'm kind of in a state of uncertainty as to whether or not I want to continue trying. The six months I went without playing really did a number on me mentally... There are just so many different variables, excuses and other things going on, but I don't want to just quit. That's four measly years I'll have wasted if I just quit, but the struggle to overcome myself is all too real. Anyhue, the guitars in the pic are a Jackson PS3 (currently OoC) and an Ibanez RGA8 with Bare Knuckle Aftermath pups. I really don't have much interest in 8 strings at this particular time but I couldn't find a 6 string that I wasn't willing to make do with. Saw a 7 string on the same site I bought the RGA from, but I was feeling too apprehensive about jumping to a 7, ended up waiting too long and someone bought it. Then I saw the RGA listed with the Bare Knuckles, saw the price and jumped on it. Even though it's really not what I wanted, I'm still happy over the fact I was able to buy something for myself for once. My amp can't handle the F# though and my only cable is messed up and I'm broke, so unfortunately I haven't really been playing much.

5 RepliesI build my own guitars from kits, I have a Les Paul style with a spalted maple top finished in a black burst, an SA Ibanez style guitar with a flame maple top finished in transparent green and a dragon inlay fretboard, and I am waiting on parts to build an Explorer shaped guitar which I am gonna do in a metallic gun metal grey. I am playing through an old behringer gmx210 amp at the moment but just ordered a Marshall half stack that will hopefully be here in a week or so.

2 RepliesRight now my acoustic is a Great Divide- really really nice guitar. My electric is a Les Paul, an Epiphone remake of the Gibson Goldentop guitar line.
