So I could use some advice...

So I have two problems. One being how sad the bladedancer super is at this point. The second is the fact I have a hard time with bad situations. I'm hopeful the bladedancer thing will be addressed with the April update so I'll focus on the bad situations for now. If you watch this video or you've seen some others I've posted you'll notice my shooting is decent, the problem is that I'll take out a guy or two then I end up surrounded & I die. Or I'll jump/evade into a death by super. In general I feel I'm bad at reading the situation sometimes & I just mentally give up. I'm looking to improve my survival skills so any tips are welcome.

  • Usually survival I usually rely on 3 things. Grenades, sprint, and jump(especially with blink) Grenades yes, theyre mostly used for damage, but come in handy for creating distractions or a barrier. You're doing good with the skip grenades imo because they can buy you time when people are trying to snipe you. Thats usually where blink comes in handy too. Its difficult to keep track of and you can use it twice consecutively. Especially around 5:50 in the vid, I would have tried to jump the dumpster(? maybe thats a dumpster) and run out that way towards A. Also running never fails! Sometimes it pays to back off a bit and let the enemy come to you, especially if you happen to be near teammates. You might forfeit the points for a full kill but it'll save your K/D. (Im guilty of ignoring this one sometimes forgive mee) And not to agree with any ignorance
( bs //coughcough)
posted below , but Rumble is good practice! I see it as basically one giant bad situation after another so it'll most likely help in regards to learning new tactics, and countering supers! Rumble is mostly how i learned survival tbh lol

  • It seems like you're rushing to move without taking in your radar to check elevations and distances. Just slow down a little bit and take in your surroundings before you take off to a new position. What helped me get better at reading elevations was hop fusioning. I think true vanguard has a video that talks about radar and how the blips change based on proximity, elevation, number of targets, etc... Some nice snipes though.

Try not to listen to the ignorance in the people on this post. As a Hunter main who's had quite a bit of experience with Bladedancer, I've learned that it's very important to know your advantages when in mid-Super. As it is, you can't just bum rush people like you used to be able to. The Super also seems to have a shorter time to use, so you'd better plan the activation well. The advantages that Bladedancers have are their agility and evasiveness. Blink helps this even more. When using the Super, try to keep yourself in the air. The hit detection becomes stressed more easily when trying to swing up at people, which is what people will do if you rush at them at ground-level. If you're in the air, your opponents are more likely to flat-out run rather than glide or lift away, because you're up there with them. Because they're on the ground, the hit detection tends to be a lot more forgiving, since you're swinging down at them. If your problem is from counter-Supers, you need to stay up in the air yet again. Use Blink to gain momentum, and swing toward them and above them. If you try to run from a Nova Bomb or Fist, it won't work. You'll just ruin the momentum gained from the original Sprint, and you'll die. Use anyone close by to gain any lost health back, and slide around a lot to avoid snipers who are defending.
A few last things. You can two-shot Sunbreakers and Stormcallers, and if you can jump over them and surprise them, a Titan with Ward of Dawn (even Armor of Light) shouldn't pose a problem. Golden Gun, Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc are your worst enemies.
Lol another hunter relying on his super to do all the work for him. How about trying some situational awareness and actual skill to get kills? As a blade dancer you can kill almost an entire team with one super, invis, tracking grenade, etc. Do you really need more crutches? Edit: for real, if you can't use your gunplay to get better at pvp maybe you need to choose a different subclass. Hunters are too easy to pvp with, that's why I deleted mine.
