So is this real
-
It wasn't about the online experience It was about NFL street It was about Conflict: Desert Storm It was about Ratchet and friend It was about Crazy Taxi It was about GTA 3 It was about SSX It was about Lost: the video game It was about Medal of Honor It was about Mercenaries It was about Slugfest It was about the thousands of games Gaming will never reach that pinnacle again, when there were so many games to choose from Many bad, many great But there will never be as many games as there were on the ps2. Add games you think ps2 was about

Edited by S0ulBearer: 4/3/2016 4:13:52 PMXbox shaped CONSOLE online gaming, not ps2. Edited for people repeating the same dumb comment over and over.

I never have and never will play on a Playstation.

Edited by Wolf Of Harmony: 4/5/2016 2:55:29 AMFarewell, Jak and Daxter. - Farewell, Ratchet and Clank. - Farewell, Grand Theft Auto 3. - Farewell, Sly Cooper. - Farewell, Kingdom Hearts. - Farewell, Tomb Raider: Legend. - Farewell, Final Fantasy X. - Farewell, Max Payne. - Farewell, Okami. - Farewell, to all of the wonderful games of the Playstation 2 era. - I won't ever forget turning on the console, listening to the startup noise, and playing some games that I'll never forget. Sure, we can always go back and play some of the games, but it won't be the same anymore. The servers have shut down, and the only Multiplayer we've got left is Split Screen Co-op. And yes, I know the PS2 is one hell of an old console, but I'll never forget the games I played. The PS2 was my childhood, basically. Same with the Nintendo Gamecube. - Goodbye, to the console that shaped the Gaming industry.
Yes, I know that the PS2 isn't completely gone, but slowly, it's beginning to fade away.
-
Also, I know there are lots of HD remakes of these games, but they will never feel the same as picking up the PS2 controller, and playing it on a fantastic console.
-
AND YES, I know not all of these games were online games, but I just named a few in memory of them.
-
Farewell my friend, you gave me some of the best years of my life. ('-')7

Was I the only one who played Ratchet and Clank up your Arsenal Online (base capture mode) on PS2? Lol so much fun!
-
Nay, the Ps2 shall live on through good old fashioned couch coop!
-
Ps2 was the shit. Punisher, destroy all humans and since I'm a anime nerd DeagonBall Budakai, I remember getting the ps2 middle school I think.
-
*21 gun salute in the background* You will be missed PlayStation 2 you will be missed
-
I only ever played 1 game on my ps2. Need for speed underground. Played that shit for hours on end as a teenager.
-
Now people pretend like they have been consistently playing their PS2s online. They had like one good online game? Battlefront right?
-
Imagine gta San Andreas online, I guess that's why they made gta 5 in Los Santos instead of vice city.
-
Never played PS2 online because I never had Internet then. I played the hell out of it though doing a lot of SP games, coop and splitscreen. Those where the best times.
-
Being from a younger generation I never got to truly realize the scope of ps2. Hell, the original Playstation came out the same year I was born, by the time I could really consider myself as a gamer was when ps3/360 launched. I rarely if ever play my ps2 anymore, but there are still plenty of great memories. I do however; go back to my grey box of a ps1 and play it now and again. Just last year a friend had a copy of the original metal gear solid he let me borrow, and it's now one of my favorite games I've played. Sometimes you just have to take a step back to appreciate the things you have now, and realize just how far they've come.
-
I still play battlefront 2 on it
-
Even as a Xbox player. This is a sad day. The PS2 was my very first gaming console.
