I would've posted a few screenshots but I deleted the 90+ Nasty Hate messages from iron banner players.
Seriously I was called many rude things that are NOT allowed to be said on the forums... but the Last few caused me to have an emotional Breakdown.... I played Destiny to Get away from my Emotional Problems and to have fun, but they ruined it for me. First the douche-bag 319's.. now a Wide Variety of Anger PVP players.
I was told to kill Myself by FOUR Different -blam!-ing people. for the two days and 5-19 hours that I played (Somewhere in-between )
I'm not Angry, just sad and really disappointed in some of the players of this game.
I've met many nice people, and some really big jerks.
-
Then don't be one of those people. Move on and don't dwell on it, you've afforded them already more than they deserve.
-
90+?! Just what exactly were you doing? Is this over the last 1.5 years? That's a lot of hate mail. I think you're doing something wrong. With the seemingly over exaggerated tone, the effort put into the randomly capitalized letters, and the general feeling of the post, my answer is: satire
-
Look, I get you have problems but if you're going to be triggered by some bs messages sent from 6 year olds still latched onto their mothers teat then you deserve the anguish.
-
I've NEVER had a hate mail message and I use Thorn, still! What are you doing to get that much hate?
-
I really want to say this is satire.
-
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to the darkside.

In my experience, destiny players are uniquely toxic. It's not everyone, just some people. They take it as personal offense every time you outgun them. That and the anonymity of the Internet let's these twats say stuff they wouldn't dare say in real life. I know it's really easy for me to say "don't let it get to you," but I'll admit that there's something real damn dark about humanity that just a bit of detachment or distance can cause some of us to act like that, and that is a sobering and disappointing thought. So I think the world needs more sensitive people, not less. That kind of meanness ought to shock us and make us sad. Now if it's giving you emotional problems, that's another thing altogether. Don't risk your happiness for a game. Or at least don't read the messages anymore. No random on the Internet has anything that pressing to tell you. Hope you feel better, OP.
-
It's made up of mostly teenagers who having hit puberty yet. What did you expect.
-
It's okay, some kid told me he was going to find me and stab me repeatedly because I shoulder charged him ONCE *reported and sent message to Microsoft* hope he enjoys his ban for being a crazy fvck over a video game
-
It's the Internet. It's not just this community. It's ppl thinking they can say anything they want with little to no repercussions.
-
Ehh, its no different than any other game really. Unfortunately its all the children and college kids thinking they are cool. I was there once, and would talk trash to people and call them names (never told anyone to kill themselves though, because literally wtf, why would you do that). I regret all of those years. Best thing i have found now is to just not play with a headset unless i need to, and to just ignore and mute anyone who is rude.
-
It's easier said then done but you can't take them seriously, you should read those msgs with a smile. These kids don't know you therefore the hate cannot be taken personal.
-
Sounds like you should not be playing video games and learn how to deal with shit a little better. Shut off the Xbox and go outside and make some friends
-
Just mute and move on. I always say if they take time to sent hatemail you did a good job at pvp ;)
-
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to the darkside.
-
Don't play destiny. You quit to get away from this stuff
-
Just try hard little kids on the Internet with no restrictions
-
Well it's official Activisions plan is complete destiny has become like cod
-
Why even read them? I see a message from somebody not on my fr list, instant delete. Sometimes I read for the giggles, but not usually. Ultimately, why should any comment from some anonymous person on the internet cause any stress? Meaningless words from someone who doesn't matter is all it is.

Edited by Demagogue: 3/31/2016 2:50:08 AMYou really need a break from multiplayer. Might I suggest Spec Ops: The Line, or, if you're feeling nostalgic, Undertale? A little mindless slaughter of NPC's will take your mind off What Is Wrong With Humanity. Shooting everything in the head can be quite cathartic.
-
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows, it's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It's about how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done.
-
Bullshit.
-
I've got 0 hate mails this iron banner. Also, when I do get hate mail they're all hilarious and my friends and I have a good laugh. I want to print them make a collage for my gaming room. tl;dr don't take hate mail personally. Don't ever respond. Report to Sony and Microsoft.
-
If you don't know them personally don't take it that way. Easier said than done but if you can come to that place it will help. Anonymity makes people braver and nastier.
-
Try not to take it to heart, just find a good group you're comfortable with and ignore anything else that's not worth your time.

Edited by ToastyCheese: 3/31/2016 1:38:21 PMMy apologies sometimes this community is so toxic it clouds my ideas and mind sometimes here's some advice though take this to help or directly to Bungie and get these -blam!-ers dealt with they're assholes and nothing will come up unless they are ignored completely or reported
