Had an absolute blast playing The Division tonight. No high-end drop in DZ all week, my random teammate dropped a Midas. I've been chasing this gun since launch, the lure was too much.
I took the drops, ran back to safehouse to equip a stronger build, find another team for extraction.
Got another three high-end drops after the Midas, my luck was in while using my 202% scavenging build.
Be honest, would you have done the same with a completely random teammate, that you will more than likely never meet again?
This song sums up the situation, we have a lot of angels in this thread...☺😂

You guys act like this is real life and the loot matters. I would definitely take his gun.
-
Did you get it out? That's the real question
-
Should change title to: allowed teammate to die because I'm a selfish, scummy bitch.
-
Killed some guy twice for his midas lol. I saw yellow drop from his rogue teamate. He picked it up, and ran. Chased him down, killed him. He didn't drop it. I thought I was mistaken. Walked away. Then decided... "wait... what if it was private drop" came back and there he was in the same spot. And suddenly with gear. Killed him and took his Midas lol.
-
Pat your self on the back buddy!
you won douchebag of the week
-
Well. I used to be like this, but I changed when I got my Classic M1A from the DZ. My teammate who randomly invited me in the DZ was looking almost strictly for the CM1A. I got killed and he went and saw what it was. He told me he would protect it for me because he wanted to earn it himself. Not steal it. It was really cool of him to do that. I now say that I will protect someone's loot if they die.
-
Midas ain't that great anymore since it got nerfed. But I'd still do it because the Dark Zone is a great way to bring out your worst and be a traitorous bastard. I've got 2 Midas drops from bosses so far and even though I have 2 I'd still steal another. Good find OP.
-
You completely let them die, which is fine. The trailers show that this kind of play is encouraged.
-
Good...... Use the hate.... Let the hate flow though you....
-
I would've took it too. Unless it was my friend. Good snaggle!!!

Edited by TortuousHippo: 3/29/2016 6:04:30 PMAnd that's why you never announce what drops. You taught the kid a lesson. Good on ya. *edit Ahhhhh you scooped it from a public drop. -blam!- him. Yellows on the ground are fair game.
-
Dick move honestly. You should have helped. Clearly the npcs weren't looking your way and your buddies got pinched.
-
While I personally wouldn't do it, I can't hate on you for doing it. That being said I can call you a coward for hiding and not helping your team.
-
Edited by Coops: 3/28/2016 10:41:00 AMI'm waiting for trading to be released so I can give away my 2 spare Midas Edit: sadly now 3. I just want another gun
-
Well tbh if he's random and he dies like that (granted you should of been helping your team kill those npcs) then by all means take it. He must of said something in chat that he got a high end or Midas otherwise I don't see the point in you just sitting there not killing anything, you must have known he had something.

You know what? Everyone's first reaction is going to be to scold this guy, but this is the exact type of play style that Ubisoft wanted out of this game. They wanted you to have the freedom to do whatever you wanted in the game, so if that's how he wants to play (and they know exactly that people would play like this and encourage it because it makes the game live and fun and literally a risk and reward game) then that's the way that you have to play it and don't hate people for playing like this because this is just another way to play.
-
A random yes A friend I would defend it to the last bullet
-
No I would not do that and if you did I would leave the group(or kick you) hunt you down and get it back.
-
Take the loot
-
I applause you sir! I got trust issues when in the dark zone I see you extracting with me nd I'll shoot ain't nobody stealing my loot specially when I'm carrying high end loot
-
a comrade falls in battle at my side, so I take up his weapon as a vow to avenge him, and to ensure that his death was not in vain.
-
I'm proud of you OP, you did a good job.
-
I only "steal" loot if I am guarding their drops and I see another player coming that is not on the team. Reasoning: I was there when it was earned and I'm not letting some rando steal it. Keep it in the team instead of giving it away. If I go down they always have the chance to get it back. Once in group trading is implemented this will be far more common anyway. This is a rule I state when someone wants me to go to the dark zone with them that I just met, and everyone I have played with understands the logic.
-
This behavior gets me wet! Keep it up. Feel free to add me on xcox1 if you wanna go rogue and ruin kids dreams. Im 64 dz now or around there

The decisions people make behind the curtain of anonymity exposes their true nature. The way you treat strangers says more about you than the way you treat loved ones.

I had a teammate who stole a high end grip I got after I died to a scout I called him a B**** shot him at extraction someone else took the loot I didn't care as long as he didn't have it if you do what he did you're an a** period
