How do other Destiny players feel about games that are similar in Genre?

How do you guys feel about games with a similar genre to Destiny. I'm referring to ones like Borderlands 2, The Division and Diablo 3 in some sense. Do other Destiny players play games where the goal is too collect loot or is that just me. I personally haven't played The Division so I don't particularly have an opinion on that but with the others how do you guys feel about all of these games I've listed. Do you think they're all too similar or do you feel that they're all completely different games that shouldn't even be in the same conversation. I'm hoping some people will respond with there opinions on the Shoot/Kill and Loot Genre.

Destiny held the carrot out too far. The Division has too many carrots to collect. Borderlands 2 is a sea of carrots and 99.9% of them are terrible. Diablo was fun for a while, but I've never been a big fan of roguelikes (except Dark Cloud). I do like the idea of a shoot and loot, online multiplayer type game. But I think the whole concept needs more polish. I enjoyed Destiny and I'm waiting for some new content. The 335 announcement pretty much killed any desire to get my alts to 320. The Division has been a lot of fun. The PVP is broken and the first bunch who were able to hit 30 in the first day or two got a huge advantage over the rest of the community. Challenge modes are fun, but some enemies and scenarios aren't well designed. Borderlands 2 has been a game I fall back on now and again. The overall concept is fun and lighthearted, but the abundance of terrible loot and long stretches of not finding decent upgrades is unpleasant. All three games suffer from very similar mission types. Kill guys here, kill waves of enemies, escort a useless NPC, etc. yet for some reason, Borderlands gets a pass for so much that the latter games get criticized for (especially when BL visits all the sins people condemned Aliens Colonial Marines for). Anyway, right now I'm bouncing back and forth between Salt and Sanctuary and The Division. I started making alts in the division to get the lower level weapons skins, get more Phoenix coins per day and have a rogue alt for being a dick in the dark zone to get those last couple trophies. I didn't make alts because they had variety or were fun to play (this is bad game design). I am seeing why open world T/FPS PVP typically isn't done. I will always advocate a good single player campaign in a game and endgame should really be ready at release. I do think there's a magic formula out there somewhere. I'd like to believe that Bungie and Half Moon can pull it together in Destiny 2... But I'm not getting my hopes up. Massive has been eager to support and fix The Division, but they aren't addressing things very well and various game breaking bugs keep popping up (one of my alts kept getting stuck on staircases, wtf?). Anyway, I'm gonna go play platform souls (Salt & Sanctuary) some more after I do my Division dailies. May we get our golden game eventually.
