1. Increase Legendary Mark cap to 500.
2. Allow all factions to sell their own engrams. That gear drops no lower than your current light level. This would allow us a better chance at gaining the gear we want without having to lower our light.
3. Give us another way to level the gear we like. Add an armor smith and give the armor and weapon smith the ability to infuse our gear to the maximum light level one point at a time using glimmer, legendary marks, ascendant materials, radiant materials, etheric light, and moldering shards as part of the cost. The higher the light gets on an item the higher the cost to infuse it to the next level (only works on year 2 items that have the infusion slot. good for leveling gear you are having a hard time increasing the light).
4. (possible reforge) The smiths should be able to modify our weapons and armor using parts we have collected from other gear. We choose what to keep when dismantling items. A standard dismantle would yield glimmer and upgrade materials. A focused dismantle would yield the perk you want to keep. Example: a rare sniper rifle drops at 270 with the scope you wish you had on your 310 1000 yard. You would focus dismantle the 270 rare for the scope, take your 1000 yard and scope to the weapon smith for forging.
5. Remove exotics from the loot table expect for a small chance in the NF and a larger chance in the raid. Add Xur to the tower full time selling nothing but three of coins that only work in the NF and raid. He will also act as a raid que.
6. Bring back elemental primary drops in the raid.
This would make year 1 content relevant, but keep us using year 2 gear, give us more to do during the week, give us an alternate avenue of leveling up in case we don't get what we need this week (max level should not be tied solely to the raid, but great gear can be) and still incentivize raid and nightfall activities as these are the best activities for higher level and amazing gear.

Didn't like #5, but hey, that's just me...

The point of that is to set a balance between letting us have more options in leveling up and keeping an incentive for raid and NF.

I see...

I believe that 4 of those 6 ideas make sense. However, I disagree on point 2 and 3. I disagree on 2 because raising your light has to be a challenge not lowering your light makes it way to easy, but if you were to say trade a current piece of armor for the same quality from the faction vendor then it would be fine. Finally, I disagree with 3 because it would simply be easier to acquire the items that it says you need for the infusion, why pay more than you would have to if infusing yourself.

Thank you for the constructive criticism. I'm not sure I understand your disagreement with those items, but I'll try to explain my points. On #2 you seem to think it should be a challenge to level up, and while I agree I also feel that time should be rewarded. If a player never participates in the NF or raid then their max light will be 300. #2 could help them get there. Similarly someone who raids but can't seem to get the item they need or the item with perks they want. It wouldn't be a simple path to max level. On #3, like most people I'm tired of being burned by rng and I believe this could help. It also compliments #2 well. Again it's not a simple path to max level. That said my main beef with the game and the true purpose of this post is that grinding one thing over and over, the raid, to hit max level is absurd. max level should not be held behind such a grind wall. However, exotics and great weapons and armor should be in the most difficult content. If you can justify why max level should be held behind RNG and then raid then I might concede to your point, that I'm still not sure I fully understand.
