So to me it seems that people think that insulting others is productive.
I see this a lot but if someone doesn't agree with someone else they will either just state their view and directly follow up with an insult. i.e. "this game is trash, you suck". I don't understand the point of writing these kinds of arguments because they do nothing to sway opinions and basically just make themselves seem inept.
I also see stuff where someone makes a valid argument but then ends it with an insult. i.e. giving a valid argument saying why the person was wrong and they give around 4 good reasons supporting their claim, and then ending with something like "you idiot". This is silly to me because it basically undermines the whole tone of the text. Mainly, I just don't see the point.
I try to never put insults in my comments and posts because I don't see the point. I would love to see what you guys have to say about the subject and why you think people do this or why you specifically do these things.
