Here it is, almost April and we find ourselves in the midst of a new release for our Destiny.
There are so many times that we have been pleasantly surprised by Team Bungie, otherwise, why would we all still play, and read, and comment. Then there are those that usher in sheer disappointment.
Despite all of our differences, we find the common ground of playing this game together, and have become a community. I think that gets lost sometimes in what we feel when looking for new changes in this epic adventure. We all play as a hobby. Some more than others, and some are more skilled than others...but we all have one thing in common above all else...we paid for this game. The controllers that are replaced cause they got wore out. The head sets. The TV's, the Next Gen Consoles...we have all funneled a small fortune into the world of Destiny
I know there are more times than not, lately, that I feel let down and disappointed in Bungie and the devs. It seems like they want us to play this game , not as they advertise (from the Destiny home page) "...Venture out alone or join up with friends. The choice is yours."
The fact of the matter is that the choice is not ours.
There are commonly mentioned things that are not game diminishing that would improve the overall Destiny Experience.
1. Allow the postmaster to do his job and let me send gear and consumables to my friends as WE choose. Let me help my friend who is missing that one piece of gear the I have 5 of. Bungie, your choice not to implement this in year 2, under consideration, was a mistake. Most of us were grateful when we got THE drop, but the RNG has failed so many of us so many times. Some of us got 10 Gjallarhorns, others never got one. I got my first from VOG, the rest I couldn't tell you. I have gotten multiple The Last Words, my son got his first in yeaterday's Nightfall, after playing since Thanksgiving 2014.
2. Make the gunsmith a GUNSMITH. 2 parts -
Part 1 - make Gunsmith Rank relevant to Armsday orders, Weapon order at 280 + Gunsmith rank 10 = Gun Delivery of 290. Weapon Order at 280 + Gunsmith rank 40 = Gun Delivery of 320
Part 2 - Make the Gunsmith work for a living. Let him bring our year one weapons to year 2 light levels. Make that shit expensive if it makes you feel better. Year 1 Weapon + Weapons Parts + Glimmer + Ascendant/Radiant Energy/Shards +Etheric Light = Year 2 Weapon 300+. Obviously we have to spell it out that this would also apply to armor as well.
This would go well with your statement "Personalize and upgrade every aspect of how you look and fight with a nearly limitless combination of armor, weapons, and visual customizations."
3. Allow for optional matchmaking. The Challenge of Elders is the ONLY way to get to 335, and it is not a matchmaking event. This does NOT adhere to the ".Venture out alone or join up with friends. The choice is yours" ideology, it says rather, "Play how we want you to play and depend on others to cater to your lifestyle to succeed in the game. I work upwards of 260 hours a month on call every day. Fireteams and Raids are not often available to my or people like me, so we get punished because there is no other way to hit the higher level. Simple fix is optional matchmaking, even for Raid activities. How does it hurt you?
4. Expand the loot drop. After I got my 7th Not like the Others, I collected them for 30 days...ended up with 23. RN-Geezus right?!?! They ranged from 282 - 298...my light level was 310+.
Your Armory page shows 742 weapons...so why do we get the same things at much lower light levels than what we need to improve our characters Battle Readiness?
5. Add a 260+ light level to missions and start dropping Activity Completion Rewards for missions that have been previously done. Let us farm, what do you care?
6. LEVEL 42 Crota's End and Vault of Glass with upto 335 Drops. I love the old Raids, but with few exceptions, nobody is anxious to do them because no advancement rewards exist. This option paired with #2 in this list makes for a pretty badass option to advance.
Again Bungie, the above are the most commonly talked bout things in the community, among many others. Some of our fellow Guardians have some stellar ideas, most of which would not take a massive update to achieve.
I am excited about the content being released and I always look forward to the new ideas that continue the story.
Listen to your community Bungie. We, your paying customers, your loyal patrons, your devoted Guardians of Light, are telling you what WE want so we can enjoy, in our way, what you have created.
Take these ideas and post a poll. Start a discussion group. Give explanations. Do something other than ignore our opinions. If you want this to be a 10 year endeavor, truly, then stop dismissing our ideas and concerns.
