Hey,
I just thought of this idea and was looking to see what people think about it!
What if: You equip viking funeral and it takes away the damage done by the firebolt itself and just applies the burn.
This would still make it super powerfull, but it wouldn't turn you into a oneshot by one grenade.
They could also just take away the perk.
2nd idea:
The closer you were to the centre of the grenade on impact, the more the burn does, with the max of doing the same damage as now.
Again, just some idea's I'm not looking to 'kill' your subclass, I'm just looking for a balanced idea!

Keep Viking Funeral as it is, but make it so a Sunsinger using the perk will gradually burn down with their own DoT (greatly reduced from what they inflict to others, but a constant ticking of self-damage. Health regen perks and flame shield still work, but upon death a Sunsinger with Viking Funeral equipped has a chance to bathe a small radius around their ghost with flames. No no...scratch that...that's just silly... -
All these people saying "leave it" are warlock Mains lmfao
-
Wait....a guy with TLW, 1000 yard stare with shortgaze and snapshot, and double smoke grenades is complaining about something being cheap. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the destiny forums. Signed, A hunter main.
-
Same damage, but make the burn last less time. So ur recovery can come back quicker. Higher damage per tick.
-
I like both ideas! Coming from a Warlock main
-
So in other words don't let viking funeral stack with fire bolt.
-
Here's a better idea, and one that 99% of people who actually have a brain agree with: get rid of Viking funeral completely, and come up with a creative perk that isn't "this one ability lasts longer"
-
You could just make it burn if you're in sun singer. Nothing has to get pulled out the game.
-
Or just take away shade step or wombo combo. Even better idea.
-
They need to put touch of flame and Viking funeral into the same line of perks. They could flip angel of light with Viking funeral.
-
Just make Viking Funeral only work while Radiance is active and burn stops when the warlock is dead.
-
Sigh...just put touch of flame and viking funeral in the same skill tree so only one can be active at a time.
-
It's not a one shot already lol
-
Nope, it would be bad. My idea is to make the burn deal less damage (from 7 to 4), and it damages the enemy faster, so that he can start health recovery a lot earlier
-
Burn tickles only twice
-
It wouldn't be a funeral pyre if you didn't die.

Edited by BLWigglyAkA: 3/27/2016 12:46:12 PMNa...You may simply need to run max armor max recovery, solar armor setup if you're facing a Sunsinger! That may not be comfy for your particular play style, but theirs your balance Ask a Titan, they'll tell ya
-
It's almost if people forget that it takes two subclass perks to even work
-
*gets hit by FB grenade* *hides behind cover to wait for burn out* *booted for inactivity*
-
Edited by awsomeness3210: 3/26/2016 11:36:57 AMOr let the burn be more higher if it was like 7 burn (it does it maby 5 times) it would be 8 but one burn less but just enough to do the exact damage as the 7 burn version that would give damaged guardians more time to recover or just give the damage in one blow without the burn.
-
Either decrease the time you burn or the damage you take. Better yet, how about the burn stops after they die? But you know what's going to happen once it gets nerfed? Fusion grenades for days.
-
Damage is not the problem... the time it takes you to heal again is. You're left at 1-shot for 12+ seconds, and they have a tracker on you. Cut that time down and I'd be fine with it.
-
All right, I main voidwalker but I rarely get hit with a firebolt outside of trials, you are trying to destroy yourself with fusion grenades #voidwalkermasterrace
-
I propose that the damage on the grenade and burn stay the same. However, I would like to allow health regen to not be stopped whilst burning.
-
Nerf with more gernades and longer burn !!!
-
Viking funeral increases burn time and damage... So why not just have the default damage instead of reducing it? Or better yet, DO NOTHING BECAUSE IT'S FINE AS IT IS.
