The formula for The Crux of Crota dropping in Hard Mode Scrota.
A few days ago their was discussion regarding if the Crux of Crota was indeed in Crota’s loot table, despite some people assuming it was glitched or bugged.
Before The Dark Below was released, Bungie discussed the new drop refinements, and how loot would work differently in Crota’s End. Bungie added the ability for Destiny to track the drops you’ve already had, as well as how long its been since you received a particular item.
With the Crux of Crota, they’re tracking who has the Glowhoo shader (a guaranteed drop from Crota on hard mode).
If it’s your very first time completing the raid, and you don’t own the shader yet, the Crux of Crota is not going to drop for you...

Drop Chance & How It Works
The Crux of Crota is obtained simply by completing Crota’s End on hard mode.
You do not need the Glowhoo shader equipped, but you do need to own it on one of your characters. If you’re completing hard mode, you most likely already have this shader, so you shouldn’t need to worry about this.
Following these steps will allow you to have the chance at the Crux of Crota, but it’s still not a guaranteed drop.

1 ReplyEvery stop listening to these myths... i have done crota so many times that i have gotten everything at least once, i have got black hammer, abyssal, fang of ir yut, oversoul edict, word of crota, swordbreaker, hunger of crota, song of ir yut, all the warlock armour and the bond and the emblem, both shaders and the titan armor(dont own anymore), hunter armor(dont own anymore either) but i have not gotten the crux of crota, you dont go around telling lies... i have tried using the edolon ally, the husk of pit, using the shader glowhoo, cryptocraphic, chatterwhite, and i have tried even the vex mythoclast, i am a legit player and i have typed all these weapons and all the stuff i have and dont have anymore, my name is YFGL SiltyLeek0, if you dont believe me, you can talk to my friends, i have done this "crota's end" so many times, go look me up on the destiny tracker or the bungie page, i dont care about likes or dislikes or the comments or reply's so don't reply on this, i wont be visiting this post but i hope it gets to all you guys and you guys see this when the next people come to look this up. -LISTEN TO ME WHOEVER WANTS THE CRUX OF CROTA because all these guys and gals are all lying in thier ways of luckfully getting it and calling it the "Method"??? You Can Add Me On Xbox, I Have Everything On Every Raid, I Would Love To Do Raid With You And Everything Else, Just do crota's end on hard and make sure you win, when you do win their is a chance for you to get it and dont go looking up the percent on the web for the drop rate on destiny ok... this will give you more lies, the drop rate is CLOSE TO AT LEAST BY MY MEASUREMENT TO BE 5% DROP CHANCE, so do the raid on all three characters every week till you have it, i hope i taught all you guys a great lesson to not go on these fourms and look up this Crap they put on here, and i want you to know about the fourms on bunige's page.........they are almost like the conspiracy therioes that these crazy people make up about these disaster that happen when they should be hepling out and not making horrible jokes about serious things that happpen, so whoever owns this web page, keep this web page up and let people see this so they know to never read this crap people put up again, and stop feeding off attention.
