One thing is for sure... Its a PoE rework. Everything else is just speculation. Doing a "taken" reskin of old PoE gear would be a suicide and the shitstorm it would casue would make the planet explode. I just hope that the taken story arc will be finally closed and we can be hyped for a new enemy type in the big DLC comming later this year. My personal guess: The taken form is part of the Strike where we get "taken" in some form. Its not a shader, its not armor, but rather just a plain strike mechanic. I can already taste the salt. Not just ordinary salt. It will be salt of the purest form.
