Well it's according.
Original content about 4 to 5 hours (been awhile so not exactly sure but not long)
The Dark Below (Maybe an hour and half?)
The House of Wolves (about a half hour maybe a full hour along those lines)
The Taken King (about 8 to 10 hours. Had more content then the entire original game. So sad.)
The Taken King helped the game ALOT and I fully understand that just about ANY game is repetitive as hell. (name one that isn't.)
Mind you I hardly got to raid. Used to modern games that allows raiders to gather easily without leaving the game (Think most MMos which I realize this is not but how hard is it to get a posse together for a crucible match? Raids is hardly more difficult once you know what to do and had practice doing it.)
However, a good game gives the illusion you are not doing the same thing over and over.
A story helps the illusion.
The Music pumps you up so you don't care when you run out of story.
The repetitive repeatable quests makes it feel like you are contributing to the imagined well fare of fellow guardians or the populace. (think of the clever Last of us that used Facebook to give real names and faces to those you are trying to save)
No content is not repetitive. But a good game helps you not noticed it so blatantly.
I really LOVE the Destiny gameplay. But for what it is we should have gotten the Taken King from the onset.
For those who got the game with Taken King got the actual Value. For those of us who invested before? We were in my opinion simply taken.
I know likely we will never agree but compared to Halo this game is soooo bland and dumbed down in comparison to me.
