So, this is my debut of a new series I thought up while I had "Left the forums."
Enjoy, and be sure to leave feedback.
The Disgraced I
"And what makes you want to sign up for this shit?" The Colonel yelled at Felix, jabbing a finger at him.
Felix inhaled sharply. "So I can redeem myself, sir."
The Colonel scowled at him, boring into Felix's soul with green eyes.
Felix Vonswitch was a Hunter; but not a guardian. He could wield the light, but he was not a guardian. He had short, brown hair that spiked upwards, a fair face, was 5'10, blue eyes, and was 25 years old (Not counting his ressurection years, of course)
Not that he would ever be revived again, since his ghost had been destroyed by the Cabal. Guardians had ghosts; Felix did not, therefore... He was no guardian.
And what happens to guardians who don't have ghosts?
Most retire; confining themselves within walls paid for by the Vanguard and the City's taxes.
Some go crazy; a ghost is a guardian's best friend, after all.
A few try and get hired by the Vanguard; voluntarily throwing themselves into mounds of paperwork and analysis.
But what if you still have light inside, light that has not yet reached it's full potential? Light that never again will burn outside the City's walls, but will be fueled by serving the City itself?
That was why Felix was sitting here getting yelled at by this bastard in the first place.
The Colonel gave out a loud sigh and Felix snapped back into reality.
"Yes sir?" He asked evenly.
Colonel sighed, pulled open a drawer, and lit a cigarette. He examined Felix's application once more.
"So you want to join The Disgraced, Felix Vonswitch?"
"With all due respect sir..." Felix straightened in his seat. "Hell yeah."
The Colonel chuckled, propping his feet up on the mohagoney desk.
"Good luck, son. Because that's exactly what it is; hell."
