Micros aren't paying for dlc. Micros are for the live team. Bungie said this way back when micros first came out. Kotaku were the people that said the micros were for dlc, and they were wrong.

Okay, then what's paying for them? Nobody's working for free is my point. We are paying for it one way or another.

Okay, so my point still stands. The "update" isn't free, and it's being paid for by microtransactions.
