Here's my ways The Division can learn from Destiny.
Change 1: Match making - I don't want to walk up to a mission start and be able to start hosting an instance or joining another with match making. Make me go to a website and post on forums to find partners is I want to experience the game with others.
Change 2: Too much content - Ubisoft, you done goofed, I'm 40 hours in and still have a good chunk of content including side missions and main story missions. It should only take me 8 hours to finish the story and hit the level cap Remove 75% of the content and sell it as DLC.
Change 3: Speaking of caps - where's my currency cap? I've earned 75,000 of the in game currency and some people have hundreds of thousands. Uh ... did you forget to add a cap or something?
Change 4: Locations - The playable area is too big, make it a lot smaller and add a bunch of baby bumpers that keep you confined to narrower environs.
Change 5: emotes - I need them, I want to pay money to have my character slow clap. Luke Smith is so disappointed in you.
Change 6: light level I'm uncomfortable about being able to reach the maximum level through playing the game and earning experience. I feel like my level should be tied to randomly receiving the appropriate gear.
Change 8: Other - Weapon shaders: yuck. Gear trading: gross. A shooting range? Can you say gimmick! RPG elements: too complicated, need to be dumbed down. In-game lore: nope, just nope.

If crucible isn't endgame then dark zone isn't either lol which means division went from having very little end game to ZERO endgame.
-
You haven't played have ya...the division has matchmaking for every single activity within its own game.
-
Edited by Motion Man: 3/18/2016 11:15:41 PMI have played it, check my gamer tag. also read my post I never said that it did not have it. I said destiny also has it... it just doesnt have it for high end activities like raids or trials. I said divsion doesnt have end game activities like raids or strikes or pvp or anything
-
The dark zone is pvp and the fact your shit can get taken makes it pretty end game. Yeah destiny has strikes and raids (well if you wanna call 6 men strikes a raid. Every raid in destiny has been soloed not making it credible as a raid. At launch the division has nearly as many missions as destiny does in all its entirety y1 and ttk. We get our "incursion" in 3 more weeks which will be considered more a raid because of how massive it will be. There us so much to do in the division as is whitout even having to pvp it just adds to the fun. Also whay do you think all those cell phone recordings, crashed drones, missing persons reports and echoes are? I believe its called lore.
-
ya havent played dark zone have ya? no one shoots eachother unless by accident because there is no incentive to do so. (this is backed up by the community and the developer) you can solo any content in the division. the raids in destiny are generally praised as some of the best co op/ shooter experiences available. Vanilla destiny story missions: A Guardian Rises Restoration The Dark Within The Warmind The Last Array The Dark Beyond The World's Grave The Sword of Crota Chamber of Night The Shrine of Oryx A Stranger's Call The Ishtar Collective The Archive Scourge of Winter Eye of a Gate Lord Exclusion Zone The Garden's Spire The Buried City A Rising Tide The Black Garden TOTAL: 20 according to the IGN Division Wiki it has 16 although I think it actually has more... however not much more then 20. if you wanted to add the dlc as you claimed then it would have many more missions. not that it matters as in these types of games those are just a means to an end to get to the endgame content which is the main attraction... which the division doesnt have. I also enjoy how you talk about how massive the incursion is going to be when there is not any info released on it what so ever, If i had to guess it will be a Russian consulate with maybe 2 bosses.
-
There were i believe 26 missions at launch in the division.
-
Im rank 20 in dz. And see rogues all the time pal don't know when you are on but when I am playing I usually run into a few.
-
ok so one was a cutscene, one was a tutorial so it had 3 more missions then destiny. WOW. also: http://www.vg247.com/2016/03/18/the-division-dark-zone-needs-fixing/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/03/13/the-divisions-dark-zone-endgame-is-currently-a-mess/#11080d9dcd34 http://www.vg247.com/2016/03/15/the-divisions-dark-zone-is-being-geared-towards-creating-more-pvp-encounters/ http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/03/15/the-division-dark-zone-update-ubisoft/ http://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/03/the-divisions-dark-zone-is-definitely-a-work-in-progress/ looks like the dark zone im playing is the same one everyone else is playing...

Edited by The Devourer: 3/19/2016 12:04:55 AMWell my experience differs..... and yeah it was a big whoop about the missions. You deliberately tried to criticize the division for lack of shit to do when you are defending a worse game. I love destiny too bro but not that damn much.
-
not trying to criticize or "frblack"(?) just trying to not reinforce stupidity by allowing people to spew BS and misinformation. :)
-
I mean ffs you are trying to say that destiny has more shit to do than division and calling me stupid because of a few typos. You made many points in your endeavor to criticize the division that just wasn't true. The first was about lfg and in game matchmaking. But whatever. Have a nice one.
-
Edited by The Devourer: 3/19/2016 12:11:56 AMYeah my typos were fixed grammar monitor. Nice try though. Having to resort to insulting typos because you have no good points. This debate is over. Dueces
-
Edited by Motion Man: 3/19/2016 12:54:07 AMlol. you started by saying that I never played division because i said it doesnt have matchmaking, even though I never said that. so you were wrong there. then you said im wrong when i said division has no real PvP and you said the dark zone is PvP, i presented multiple articles from different sources talking about how broken it is and you said "well thats just yours (and the majority of the communities) opinion man...." then you said division has way more missions then destiny and every dlc pack complained, then you back tracked and said " and yeah it was a big whoop about the missions." when I actually showed you the facts. I resorted to presenting actual facts and evidence, you resorted to running away, good job :)
-
And I didn't run run from your articles on people's experience. They aren't fact they are opinions btw. I havce had a different experience what xam I say. But the major point I am making is all your bullet points were biased and untrue. Bashing a game that was released less than 2 weeks ago for no end game content yet when this game didn't recieve it for a month after release. The difference is the division will have in game matchmaking for it.
-
Also I said division has nearly as many missions as Destiny in it's entirety not that it has more. Please don't put words into my mouth.
-
vault of glass came out 1 week after destiny launched, another fact to follow an incorrect statement you brought up. The developer of the division said on the record to the fans that the dark zone has balance issues and they are looking to find ways to increase player engagement in the PvP aspect of it so its not really my opinion. combining queens wrath, dark below, house of wolves, taken king would almost triple the amount of missions in the division, so i wouldn't call that nearly, another false statement. also I have said many times im comparing launch vanilla destiny to the division. vanilla launched with more to do and an endgame.
-
Also lets not forget that a large potion of those missions are completely obsolete. With a spark of light a gaurdian could skip through a whole years worth of content.
-
So what you are saying is that before ttk destiny had around 70 missions give or take? Lmfao it doesn't have that many now
-
Queens wrath was bounties doing missions and strikes already in game. So how is my statement untrue? I mean first you tried to say that I said it had alot more content when in fact I said it has nearly as much as a game that's going on 2 years at launch. And dont get me started on those cappy live events. Those only exist to boost the sales of silver.
-
You said if you added all the dlc division would probably have more. Not counting multi part missions there is like 60. But again I'm only taking about VANILLA DESTINY. 4 distinct factions - not different clothes on guys that are mech the same A raid not nothing 4 strikes not nothing Actual pvp with like 10 maps and 4 modes not broken DZ with 1 map. A ton of unique gear across three classes each with 2 subclasses that gives different unique abilities not different color jackets and hats with a bunch of same-y guns. You know! VANILLA DESTINY.
-
uhh the longer missions are EASILY on the level of destiny strikes, if not a little higher. On challenging difficulty those missions that have it are easily AT LEAST on the level of year 1 nightfall
-
Nah destiny strikes has real bosses not just named remodels with more health. The missions in division are like the missions in destiny. Except they are artificially made harder by adding more health and damage instead of modifiers or different enemies with different abilities.
-
Edited by OJ191: 3/19/2016 11:28:47 PMWat, Strike bosses ARE literally just remodels with more health, for the most part. Any unique mechanics are very very VERY minor. The only decent unique strike boss mechanic I can even think of is echo chamber, and that was gimmicky as -blam!- at that but at least they tried something new.
-
Please show me a normal mob that looks like a spider tank or ta'aric or phogoth etc
-
devil walkers aren't even a full boss, miniboss at best, hell they're not even a mob really they're destiny's version of a main battle tank. Final mission of vanilla division has a heavily armed helicopter. Phogoth is just an upsized ogre ffs. I don't even know what you mean by ta'aric, but none of the cabal bosses are particularly unique, they are just upscaled and with random extra armour pieces added on.
