IT'S A "DON'T NEED TO PAY MORE" DLC, STOP COMPLAINING ONCE..
Guys guys... About the news.. Be at least once happy...
It's a free DLC right, people working on that content are not making any money for the company. Yes they will reuse some stuff we had before, and that's totally fair. How can you make new content to make people happy and still don't waste too much money on it => reuse old stuff to make some new, that's a fair compromise ?
They have a team working hard on the next big expansion later this year and another team even bigger working on Destiny 2 for next year. It's not like if lazy developers were taking drugs with some Russian chicks around a swimming pool at the top of Bungie's building.
Edit: I saw a few comments about the DLC being part of TTK. So Instead of Free DLC, let's say then "you don't need to pay more for it" DLC. But I guess it's the same issue for any "Free DLC" (the division, the witcher...), it's never really free if you had to pay for a game at first. *Okay*
Edit2: Okay they get money from the emotes that many people bought. But if the money is an issue for you I guess you didn't buy any emotes in the first place.

Edit4: it is sad that I just wanted people to stop complaining and to just be happy once but they found a way to focus on FREE and DLC on my post and that's all... I guess I should just give up on them... :/

The game has been out for 18 months (will be 19 once the update hits), and this is the FIRST TIME Bungie has decided to do anything nice for the community for just the sake of being nice. Oh, and it happens to be about when the game is going downhill. Let me translate that for you: Bungie will do the bare minimum it takes to keep you around. They could have made a few random free content updates in the past to improve public opinion. It's not like other companies don't. It's not like Bungie was at the top of the world post-launch (remember the outcry about this game at launch? I do.) But they decided not to. Why? Because they had no competition at the time. But now they do, and that competition is really kicking them in the pants, so NOW they care. That doesn't make you feel like you don't matter to them? And I'm sure I'm going to get that tool who's all like "they don't owe us anything", but you know what? You bought their $140 game. They owe you everything they can give you within their budget. All this update proves is that, yes, they were in fact holding back on all of you. And that's why I left four months ago. I decided I'd rather stick with a developer that pushes their budgets as far as they'll go. And I get cheaper, yet higher-quality games for it. You all owe it to yourselves to quit Destiny. Are we saying a patch is dlc now or that this update will have as much content as the 3 previous paid expansions because neither are true. I am relieved something is finally coming, but it may be too little too late for most. If anything people should be upset it took 6 months to get any answer at all.

Nice! I still have no idea how people think that something in a game we pay paid for is free. I paid for the game and its content all of it and I paid full price. I have not spent near as mach as some and purchased all the emotes and such though some has been spent which I still kick myself for cause I still feel it is wrong. Nothing is free in this game unless you got the game for free and the dlc expansions for free which would mean you either won them or someone else paid for them so they still were paid for by somebody. (So not free)

the mess bungie are in its amazing there getting anything out that studio for ttk still while working on destiny 2. People seem to think all studios can just churn content out willy nilly while working on big sequels, unfortunately in the real world some studios have big staffing & technical problems... Bungie are well within there rights to drop all work on the current game say duck you children & just work on destiny 2, then you all really would bitch & cry. but there not they have a limited number of people trying to appease the nerf brigade of cod & mincraft brats that contaminate these forums. The update may well end up being a steaming pile of rehashed doggy poop that we all hate, and i'll rightly be throwing salt with everybody else if it is, but geez guys chill out lets at least download it first lol

Thus it's paid for by any sad person who bought Silver (me being one of those sad people). However, I'll wait till it comes out to judge it for myself, I have with each DLC. However, I will not be hopeful or expecting anything spectacular. If they simply re-release VoG, TDB, and PoE with the new max light I'll be satisfied. PS. A new Gjallarhorn was implied.
