Destiny could learn from The Division
Having read the insightful threads from respectable members of this community on how The Division is [i]the[/i] Destiny-killer, aswell as witnessing the incredibly popular social-utopia that is the Division forum, I really think Bungie should take a page or two out of Ubisoft's book.
By making a few changes based on winning aspects of The Division, I firmly believe Destiny could once again be a great game.
[b]Change 1: Enemies[/b] - Scrap every enemy and instead create a single race of dregs dressed in an assorted variety of cotton / polyester sweatshirts, scarves and hats. Buff enemy armor by 800%. Name them all Alex.
[b]Change 2: Bosses[/b] - Scrap all boss fight mechanics. Scrap every existing boss in lieu of one of the aforementioned enemies with a higher amount of HP and damage output. Pick a noun at random, set as boss name.
[b]Change 3: PVP[/b] - Scrap the existing PVP completely, and instead allow guardians to kill eachother in a specific area of Patrol mode. Players must complete a Warsat event to keep any collected loot. Have deaths reduce light level.
[b]Change 4: Locations[/b] - Scrap the moon, venus, mars, saturn, and reef. Scrap patrol matchmaking.
[b]Change 5: Endgame[/b] - Scrap all endgame content in lieu of a max light level difficulty for 5 story missions.
[b]Change 6: Mobility[/b] - Scrap sparrows, pikes, heavy pikes and interceptors. Scrap jumping. Scrap crouching. Buff jogging. Add shadestep to every class.
[b]Change 7: Gear[/b] - Hand out legendaries and exotics freely, but with a 99% chance of having a useless roll. [i]Sweet! A Gjallarhorn! ..Aw man, Shank burn..[/i]
[b]Change 8: Other[/b] - Make the game third-person. Nerf strange coin drop rate. Scrap existing supers. Players must queue to interact with vendors.
These suggestions are the result of hours of tireless research.

11 RepliesOk, we get it. You love the division. 1. They did not scrap enemies, they re-skinned them for TTK. 2. I think we all agree with this one. 3. That is a novel idea, wish they would. 4. This one makes no sense at all. 5. They have to have endgame content first. 6. This would just suck, besides the shadestep part. 7. Deja-vu. Like everyday this happens. 8. We already have the 3rd person option in game, wtf is the rest? It is pretty bad tho, division has taken everyone from this game, not a single person on my list playing Destiny now.

5 RepliesHow Ubisoft can take some pointers from Bungie: Change 1: Players- Just nerf the hell out of them. Anything that gives them an advantage, just make it lesser or take it away. End game weapons who needs those. Just give them enemy re-skins of existing weapons with random stat rolls. Take a dump all over year one players, and remove anything that is considered fun because you want them to "play the game the way it was meant to be played. Change 2: Content-Cut out 2/3rds of it and sell it as DLC. When the third comes around time gate most of the content for no reason other than not wanting others to progress. Also make it so all former content is completely worthless.Re-use old areas as much as possible, if you can't figure out a good mission scheme just reverse which way the players go, surely that will fool them. Change 3: Weapon/class/ability Balance- Who needs balance just throw that shit out the window and nerf something when the community cries too much. When there is one weapon completely breaking the game keep it around for 6 months, but when there seems to be some similarity to balance nerf another weapon. Change 4: RNG- Instead of making it better, make it worse by implementing a new system of new values that doubles the grind for no reason. Then make it so the system where you can put more powerful gear into a weapon for only a small percentage of the original. Change 5: Matchmaking- Introduce a new system that is supposed to make it better, but instead makes it much worse. Change 6: PVE- Ignore it and anyone that enjoys it for several months and only acknowledge/fix the tiniest of issues. Change 7: PVP- Introduce gametypes with broken rule sets that make it so the objective of the game is worthless and it is easier to just let other capture it and then defuse it. Make maps with terrible designs, but are extremely pretty. Change 8: Hype- Overhype everything, make it seem like it is the best thing ever even if will ultimately aggravate and cause your players to leave. I am sure that if Ubisoft takes some cues from Bungie they can make a game that will be just as great as Destiny. PS: I love Destiny, but you people act like it is a 10/10 game of the year and everyone should be sucking Bungie's dick over it and any game compared to it is instantly shit. Stop being hypocritical assholes.

1 ReplySeems like Division learned from Destiny. There are some similar aspects but division (im sad to say) did it better. Ubisoft saw what Bungie did wrong and made their game based on it.

15 RepliesWell I am bored off the Division... Back to Destiny for me... Level 30 and level 30 Dark Zone in 3 days... Yup... I'm done with the Division... ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED THE DIVISION... IT'S HONESTLY NOT WORTH IT... For one, these are minor mis-conveniences in the game. You [b][u]CAN NOT[/u][/b] view any other character, can not show off everything you got... RNG is actually worst then Destiny... Killing a real Bullet Hose "boss" major dude or whatever they call these guys, they do drop guaranteed "rare" loot... But it's not worth killing a bullet hose that can just walk up to and "burn or strike you down" like a thrall against a maxed out 320 guardian.... Another terrible thing with the Division, all the enemies level become your group leaders level... Say you started a character, your buddy is joining to help at level 10, then your basically -blam!-ed because all the enemies are level 10 and you are level 2 or 3 while shooting rubber bullets... Minor inconveniences.... There is more... But I am about done with the Division... Unless I wanna go through the whole thing again with another character... But I need some better gear In Destiny just in case we can keep infusing the armour... Back to Destiny for me...

1 ReplyIn a few months when Final Fantasy 15 comes out I'm going to be playing that. Do I need to have Destiny match exactly the same type of game that is whenever that game comes out? No. Surprise, I can play both. The division and destiny are two completely separate games unique from one another. Allow them to grow their own directions.

1 ReplyYou do realize they rioters are one of four enemy types and the only ones with that whole beanie/hoodie getup, as well as the many people named Alex. The Rikers wear prison jumpsuits beneath leather jackets. Cleaners wear hazmat suits. And the LMB wears fatigues.

7 RepliesI kind of wish they could learn from themselves. The levelling systems need to stop burning players out. People are actually quitting these type of games. I've played the division up to level 8-9 I give up. Same with destiny bs light level. I'm exhausted. I've rarely played since ttk. In 2 weeks of the division I'm saying to myself. "I'm not doing this again." If the next expansion comes out with the same light level garbage. I will delete my characters just to know that I'm not getting deep into the game.

2 RepliesI bought the division 2 days ago and to be honest mate, its a decent game but nowhere near as good as destiny in terms of gun play and mechanics. And walking new york city from one end to the other is no fun at all. They should of added some sort of quick travel without the everywhere being locked until you discover it. I'm bored of destiny at the minute and even I can see that it's still a top end game for new players and most of the older players will always come back for a new dlc.
