Having read the insightful threads from respectable members of this community on how The Division is the Destiny-killer, aswell as witnessing the incredibly popular social-utopia that is the Division forum, I really think Bungie should take a page or two out of Ubisoft's book.
By making a few changes based on winning aspects of The Division, I firmly believe Destiny could once again be a great game.
Change 1: Enemies - Scrap every enemy and instead create a single race of dregs dressed in an assorted variety of cotton / polyester sweatshirts, scarves and hats. Buff enemy armor by 800%. Name them all Alex.
Change 2: Bosses - Scrap all boss fight mechanics. Scrap every existing boss in lieu of one of the aforementioned enemies with a higher amount of HP and damage output. Pick a noun at random, set as boss name.
Change 3: PVP - Scrap the existing PVP completely, and instead allow guardians to kill eachother in a specific area of Patrol mode. Players must complete a Warsat event to keep any collected loot. Have deaths reduce light level.
Change 4: Locations - Scrap the moon, venus, mars, saturn, and reef. Scrap patrol matchmaking.
Change 5: Endgame - Scrap all endgame content in lieu of a max light level difficulty for 5 story missions.
Change 6: Mobility - Scrap sparrows, pikes, heavy pikes and interceptors. Scrap jumping. Scrap crouching. Buff jogging. Add shadestep to every class.
Change 7: Gear - Hand out legendaries and exotics freely, but with a 99% chance of having a useless roll. Sweet! A Gjallarhorn! ..Aw man, Shank burn..
Change 8: Other - Make the game third-person. Nerf strange coin drop rate. Scrap existing supers. Players must queue to interact with vendors.
These suggestions are the result of hours of tireless research.

Finally a post to show how different the games actually are.

Spoken like someone who really hasn't played the game. Two thousand hours in Destiny. Approaching 100 in The Division. Ubisoft had created the kind of open world RPG shooter that a lot of Destiny PVE players wanted Destiny to grow into. The Division doesn't beat Destiny as a shooter. But as an RPG, it's wiping the floor with Destiny right now,

Sorry but this sounds like a horrible idea. No raids but 5 end game story missions? That wouldn't work at all. The raids are what set his game apart. Change pvp to dz? That is also a stupid idea. This isn't gears of war where we just want to go into pvp like area and kill eachother. Make destiny 3rd person? Sorry not sorry but 3rd person shooters are horrible. All you do is shoot run to cover shoot run to cover. Fps are always best and destiny has way better shooting mechanics than the division. The division is pretty much real time gears of war. What a real 3rd person shooter should be like is uncharted. You must not play to much destiny if you want these changes. Destiny is destiny for a reason nobody wants to change the name to the division destiny.

You're my hero. Can I donate money to you? Lol

Is there an opposite to muting? I need to turn you up! hilarious

The Division/Destiny threads are dumb, I've always thought they were. Some were excited for the Division because they were butthurt over Destiny and decided to make a ridiculous number of posts about it. Though it really isn't any different from when any new game comes out on these forums, next will be the DS3 threads in the coming weeks.
-
So at first I came here and read the title and just posted, because I don't like people comparing 2 different games. Now I read it and it is actually funny. You've shown how comparing 2 complete different games is pointless.

"Alex has no house."

I was so ready to say bad things at you, glad I read posts. 8/8. Good job!
-
THANK YOU. I needed this. -blam!- the Division. Tried it, and hated it.

Yeah, the hype for Division is vastly overblown. The game is fun, no doubt, but only because it's new. After a week and a half, I'm already almost completely burned out. It took a little over a year for me to get burned out on Destiny. Even then, I ended coming back for a while until The Division came out.

Yes it could. Don't be as boring as the division ;)

As a loooong time Destiny player but current Division obsessive I have to say...this is spot on! LOL Well done sir. I thought it odd that there were so many Alex's being killed. I'm enjoying the break from Destiny but I don't know that the Division is a Destiny killer, but it may help to push bungie. #Satire4theWin

Bungie really could learn a lot from the division. The game has been fun as hell. I wasn't going to get it, watching videos didn't make it look fun at all. But, I got bored one day and said screw it. I bought it and haven't stopped playing it. I leveled up to 30 in 4 days and had a blast every step of the way. The match making in this game is the best I ever seen in a game. Its smoother then anything I ever played. I ran into a friend at the base, I clicked on join group and instantly I was in his group. I didn't have to go to orbit and load back in. There was no loading screen. It was instant. Once I got to 30, a bunch of new stuff unlocked. I done a challenge yesterday and when you beat it, its guaranteed to drop an exotic. Multiple exotics can be worn at the same time. I could go on and on. But, instead. I am going to hop on the game now. If you haven't picked it up yet. You are missing out. Its like an advanced modern red dead redemption.

I couldn't agree more!!!!! Jumping is for losers!!!

What the Division can learn from Destiny: 1- Game mechanics 2- 3rd person sucks 3- PvP is a gamemode(dark zone sucks)

This is the greatest satire I've seen. Bravo! I should retire.
-
Destiny: shooter first, RPG second Decision: RPG first, shooter second Both have their own appeals of taking place in widely different time frames. Both are good games.
-
love it, the game is pretty much like that. Still very fun though.
-
Pretty much the impression I got from Division gameplay vids and review vids, it doesn't look fun to me but I'm withholding any judgement until I play it. Funny though.

Hahaha "They got Alex".
