Throughout Destiny, there have been many references to ancient mythology such as the Ishtar Sink on Venus (Ishtar is a god in ancient Mesopotamian culture) and the Cabal phalanx (a reference to an ancient Greek battle formation). If you have any other evidence of this or theories of how this could tie into lore please tell me! Thanks and raid on!

And also, just to let you know, "Phalanx" is actually roman, not greek
-
I did a lore about all of this and how it was related to the Mythology World, and I'm glad I could finally find someone who agrees! I've came up with a whole lot of different solutions to the Destiny background, but they never made as much sense as the myth lore. I think that definitely Destiny has a "Mythological" background, like the Fallen, they are thieves and liars, if you can connect that, their "patron" is the Norse god Loki. The Vex are robots, a god who creates robots is the Greek god Hephaestus. I've been going on and on about this crap, but I've gotten far, if we could talk about this and get behind it that would be fantastic

Edited by AnonPig: 3/17/2016 8:37:39 PMYes. That being said.... Just because a connection to mythology is found does not mean it's the only connection to be found in that situation, nor does it mean no other situation can tie to that mythology, nor does it mean anything without further substantial evidence of actual in-game lore. And Ishtar is a place on Venus. Just like Tharsis is a place on Mars. Just like Oceans of Storm are a place on Luna. Just like Russia a place on Earth
