Marty O'Donnell needs our help with new project
[b]Marty O'Donnell,[/b] the legendary composer and audio director who we all know and love from his brilliant work on Myth, Halo and Destiny, [b]is working on a brand new album of standalone music - but he needs our help funding it.[/b] In just 2 days, over 200 people have already supported the project.

Marty fans: Echoes of the First Dreamer was successfully funded. The kickstarter wound up raised 10k more than requested from almost 900 people. As apart of my pledge, I get to request what Marty writes on the vinyl album they're sending me. As long as he doesn't refuse, ill bump the post again with a picture whenever it arrives ;)

5 RepliesErm.. I like Marty and all. But someone explain to me how a renowned composer with millions sitting in his bank account needs to crowd fund for $45k... Did you pick up a coke habit or something, Marty? Is your credit so bad you couldn't take out a loan? The pawn shop wouldn't take one of your Rolex's or something? I'm usually a big supporter of crowd funded projects, but I won't be involved in this one.

3 RepliesIdk... Golemn as a concept seems weird, and I wouldn't say Marty is "legendary"... I love Halo, and I like Marty and all, but this is a little over-the-top praise. Also, as has been mentioned by others, why does he need money? And why are we going to donate money for the sake of the composer when he has little to do with the actual game?? Let the product create its worth.

I'm just reading these packages and damn. They sound good. Everything above 60 is a good deal. Well except 2500 dollars; you get concert tickets but you won't be flown to Seattle. Kinda a bummer on that. Sadly I have no spare money for the guy. Music is expensive even if you have a million. You have to give 1/4 to the band/orchestra, 1/4 to the recording team, 1/4 to the extras people are buying from kick starter. And another 1/4 for sheet music, fixing instruments or even renting some that he doesn't own. Music is very expensive and so are the people who play it. In North Carolina, you get payed as much around 75-100k a year for playing. That is a lot of money in the music industry for one person.
